Can we just appreciate how Jiang Ran speaks? Every line he says is either casually devastating or weirdly sweet and you can never tell which one it is until it hits you. 'Teacher Xiao Chu, don't underestimate me. I have many strengths waiting for you to discover.' He says this while riding a shared bike at night like it's no big deal. And then later: 'I bought it, but I never said I liked it.' Cold. Absolute cold. But then he also says 'I don't want them to disturb my studying' when really he just doesn't want other girls bothering Xia Chu during exam time. The dialogue between him and Lin Yuqing is also hilarious—'If you're sick, go get treated. I'm very gentlemanly.' Jiang Ran has this arrogance that's almost comedic but also kind of endearing? His friends' banter is solid too. Lin Yuqing being the gossip broker and Lin Jinming just casually dropping 'when did you give away your first kiss?' like it's a normal Tuesday question. The whole group dynamic comes through purely through how they talk to each other.

Currently at chapter 103, why can't VRMMORPGs just be a game. Why always make it complicated. I only know of 2 novels that are still currently just pure VRMMORPG, and they are over at Royalroad. Why must the VRMMORPGs genre/tag always be more than just a game and make it more complicated. I'm still enjoying the game part of the novel, but I'm having a hard time reading through the extra bits about the real world. But still a good novel.
