Absolutely love this series! The way the books all thread together is perfection. Definitely start with Gray ...️
Author is not well author is under treatment so we have to wait guys I can't say more when author will be ok author will post
For those who are frustrated like me with the slow update. There is light at the end of this dark tunnel. S will witness J doing her wind chimes... but we don't know if she will catch up that is hypnosis. It is a long way from here though... I think M and J are definetly accomplices...
Idk what the deal is but I’ve tried everything and I only getting part of the story and from other comments I’ve seen I’m not the only one who has issues with missing text. It seemed like a good story but too difficult to follow with missing content.
Good book, different and interesting, but for me little bit dragged because of every little thought or feeling of characters. Sometimes I had a feeling I was reading the same chapter over again and it was frustrating and exhausting sometimes.
0hhhh I can't wait to start this one!! I love your work C.J. and I'm sure you won't disappoint.
Let me just say this upfront: the way this author writes the relationship between Qiu Xinran and Xia Xiuyan is absolutely devastating, and they haven't even exchanged a single word of dialogue yet. Two separate scenes, same pattern. Street crossing: their eyes meet, she feels her blood run cold, and he looks away as if it meant nothing. Palace banquet: his gaze sweeps the crowd and briefly toward her, she steps back quickly, and when she looks again he's already turned away. This is not accidental repetition — this is character. He is a man who has mastered the art of making everything look like nothing. She is a woman who can't hide her reactions at all. But here's what really got me: the flashback to their childhood. The young Taoist acolyte in blue robes who whispered about rolling down the thirty-nine palace steps, and the young noble who replied lazily, "If not, you can be the first today." Then back in the present, Xia Xiuyan says the exact same line at the palace. He REMEMBERS. Seven years later, in the most formal setting of his life, those words surface unbidden. Does she remember him? The text never confirms it, and that ambiguity is torture. And then there's He Zhong. She stiffens inwardly when she hears him say "our lord." She knows his military circle. She's been paying attention. How long has she been watching him from her shop window?
