I love the whole series.
Let me just say this: Yu Tang is the kind of antagonist who makes you furious not because she's powerful, but because she's delusional. She thinks she can just walk up to San Qi and say 'I'll step aside for you, just give me the medicine.' She thinks the Yu Family's reputation will protect her. She thinks Chu Yuebai will still be there when she's done using San Qi. She has no concept of the stakes she's playing with. And the stakes have NEVER been higher. San Qi has publicly severed ties with her family. She's living at Yan Du's residence. She's selling medicine to survive. One wrong move and she's back to being the discarded third miss with nothing. Meanwhile, Yu Tang is still operating like she's the golden daughter of the Yu Family, like she has options and leverage. She doesn't. But she doesn't know that yet, and that dramatic irony is delicious. The karma mechanism is the ultimate equalizer here. It doesn't matter how noble your birth is or how many servants you have—if you lie, your throat fills with needles and your breath becomes poison. Yu Tang can't bargain with this. She can't buy her way out of it. The only way out is the truth, and the truth would destroy everything she's built. But what really raises the stakes is Yan Du's involvement. He's not just a romantic interest—he's a young general with political power, and he's choosing to side with San Qi. When he tells Nan Xun to reimburse her at market price, he's creating a formal connection between them. He's making it known, in his own subtle way, that she has his protection. That means the Yu Family and Boyuan Houfu now have a real opponent, not just a disgraced daughter. The question isn't whether Yu Tang will fall. It's how spectacularly she'll fall, and whether San Qi will be there to watch it happen or whether she'll have moved on to bigger things by then.
