First off, this book is different. it's not your typical fantasy and I love and appreciate it. the first two chapters got me as a Christian. no offense to other religions tho but author I salute your knowledge of the bible
Very nice book i must say, good plot, the start is gripping(wn standards idk why they fk around with immense starts) but still well implemented the requirement.The novel is balanced though pace is a bit fast(im more of a LN reader and like developing plots) and the mc is badass.Good work, the character design is satisfactory and the story development is just. I applaud the writing style though there is always room for improvement.Recommend it to new readers!

He stepped down from the carriage with ease, and though he spoke not a word, he naturally inspired goodwill." Then the guard goes from cursing at him to completely flustered. The whole scene shifts from gritty border-town energy to this breathless, almost dreamlike quality. And the women on the street just... stopping mid-stride? The noisy city gate falling silent? This is cinematic writing at its finest. But what I love most is the contrast. You've got Xiao Yun in his casual clothes, leaning against a railing at a teahouse, idly rubbing a teacup while discussing corruption and political marriages. Then you cut to this pale, elegant figure stepping out of a shabby carriage at the city gate, and the world literally stops around him. The author is building two parallel worlds here—the imperial court with all its noise and scheming, and this quieter, more mysterious world of intelligence networks and hidden identities—and they're about to collide. The detail about Junzhou being "the poorest place even within Junzhou" and Xie Caiqing emerging from there anyway? That's worldbuilding that tells you everything about the character without a single exposition dump.

Honestly speaking I am not into this kind of book. The author told me to read it so I read it. But believe me this thing is really good. So detailed and very well paced. I really liked the small read. I suggest you all to give it a chance.

First of all, I LOVE the book cover! It was the first thing that piqued my interest for the story. Secondly, the writing style of the story is excellent. I like how the author descriptively introduces the characters, allowing the reader to sink into the drift of how the story might turn out to be.
