She's not used to being treated like a person rather than a transaction. Her family treated her like a replacement, a backup plan. But He Jiayu? He treats her like she matters. The scene where she hangs up on her father and then immediately regrets being too polite—that's the original host's trauma speaking. She's so conditioned to be submissive that even standing up for herself feels wrong. But then she does it anyway. She says goodbye and hangs up.
