Simple and cute popcorn reading. I also recommend reading the manga, which streamlines the early parts and dives right into the true focus of the series: Fran. The only downside is some visualized lewdness, which isn't as prominent in the novel.
Some stories are great, but not necessarily *readable* or *easy*. Following them can require significant effort, especially when you're keeping up with a translation project over a long period. If the effort required exceeds the immediate enjoyment you get from each chapter, it can become harder to stay engaged. These kinds of reads are better consumed in larger chunks.
"Reincarnated As A Sword" is the opposite. It's pretty brainless, fluffy, and lacks depth, but it's like a bowl of popcorn flavored with cuteness and occasionally seasoned with gory dismemberment. Despite its lightness, there's a core story that you can vaguely care about. You can pick up the latest chapter without worrying about the previous plot points; it's just five minutes of comforting routine.
So, obviously better than 98% of the other stuff on this site.

Reading many intense stories can be satisfying but draining, as it often feels like only the MC, ML, and their inner circle are rational. This author breaks that mold by showing a more balanced world with diverse, complex characters.
This book excels at portraying the "evil protagonist" trope, maintaining its consistency throughout without relying on cliches found in many other novels. The narrative cleverly intertwines flashbacks to create a believable and chilling portrayal of the main character, who isn't simply a misunderstood innocent – she embraces her dark nature. Unlike typical stories where the protagonist is framed for a murder, this one delves deeper into the psychological complexity.
The development of the main character's character is nothing short of impressive. Had the story jumped straight into the game plot, it would feel jarring with seemingly arbitrary violence. This was a fun read. Short, lots of action, good comedy, and excellent ending which is hard to find in a light novel.
