I really love this story because it's not cliche as others
Oh my gosh!! Can it get any hotter??? The sizzling side of Harry is addictive. Hoping he makes the right choices.....looking forward to more!
How can you get back to Forever in the Past…??? It only goes to the Daughters of the Moon Goddess now!!!
I stayed up until 2 AM reading this batch and I genuinely cannot blame myself. The pacing is ruthless in the best way possible. Chapter 12 opens with a PHONE RINGING at midnight. Not a gentle wake-up, not a slow build—just BRRRRING and your heart drops into your stomach. Cheng Lin wakes from hazy sleep, grabs the phone, sees Jiang Yi's name, and the urgency is instant. No preamble, no 'who could this be?' Just pure adrenaline. And then the information dump from Heheda about the meteorological center knowing five days prior? That's packed into a single conversation, and it lands because we're already emotionally invested. Then Chapter 13 starts with 'Three days before the apocalypse.' A full chapter of procurement, of spending two million yuan, of renting an RV, of buying gasoline through 'special channels.' It could have been boring—just a shopping list—but the author keeps it moving by mixing in the Shen Yu call right at the end. You think you're getting a supply chapter, and then BOOM, the past comes knocking. The structure here is clever: the Shen Yu backstory is woven into the present moment of her answering the phone. We don't get a flashback chapter; we get her memories flooding in WHILE she's on the call. That's efficient storytelling. Every paragraph is doing double duty—advancing the present AND revealing the past. But here's what really works: the emotional pacing. Cheng Lin goes from anxious (is Jiang Yi dead?) to relieved (he's alive, he's coming back) to cold (Shen Yu called, and I don't care). That's a complete emotional arc in one chapter. And the chapter ends on 'Hello. Her voice was indifferent, devoid of emotion, as if she were speaking to an unimportant stranger.' Not a question, not a cliffhanger, just a statement that tells you everything. She's not the same person who would have cried over Shen Yu. The only thing I'd slightly critique is the transition between the barbecue shop scene and the midnight phone call—it's a bit abrupt. But honestly, that abruptness mirrors the chaos of her life right now. Everything is happening fast, and the narrative doesn't slow down to let you breathe. Which is... kind of the point, isn't it?
