I need to talk about the morning-after scene because the author absolutely cooked with this one. "Dawn was approaching. This is such a simple sentence but it tells you SO MUCH about this man. He's been ruling for twenty years, walking on thin ice his entire life, never daring to relax. And in this one moment, with this woman, he feels something he hasn't felt in years. The author doesn't need to describe the room or the palace — the emotional landscape IS the setting here. But then there's this line that stopped me cold: "The vivid red on the bed resembled blooming plum blossoms." Plum blossoms. In winter. Blooming red. This is such a layered image — it's beautiful and violent at the same time. The emperor sees beauty; the reader sees what actually happened. She was drugged. This wasn't consensual. And he's admiring the aesthetic of it like it's a painting. That contrast is devastating. The Hanshan Temple setting is also doing a lot of work. It's supposed to be a place of prayer and peace — Zhou Mingyi went there to pray for her brother's safety. Instead, it becomes the site of her violation and her transformation. The abbot's prophecy about the "Woman of Destiny" adds this layer of cosmic irony. Fate brought her there, but it wasn't fate that put her in the emperor's bed — it was the Empress Dowager's manipulation. Princess Zhaoyang locking up the Tanhua scholar and starving him because he won't marry her — that's not just worldbuilding, that's a warning. This is a world where power operates without consequence, where the emperor's daughter can do whatever she wants and nobody can stop her. The rear palace is controlled by mother and daughter. The emperor is distant. The system is rotten, and Zhou Mingyi is walking right into the heart of it.

Interesting and intriguing read. I'm hook, just from the first few chapters. Highly recommended for anyone into office romance. Kudos
I'll say it's good the idea is quite unique and rare to see such a new storyline today with such a unique way and I'll say it has quite the potential so let's see what the author is selling in his goured.

A overall good novel. I have tried 5 chapters and can say that although there are mistakes it's nothing some time to reproof cannot fix. I have added it to my library to binge later. Hope the author will make the chapters longer. ✌✌peace. The plot is kinda nice tho..
The writing per chapter is very long, you can feel the author give so much time to his work. I like it, please upload more chapters.
