is book dropped ????????????????????????
what the ****? why is this novel in the romance section? is it only because the protagonist is a female? that's so fucking wrong!wrong!wrong!wrong!wrong!wrong!wrong!wrong!wrong!wrong!wrong!wrong!
Really like this story (I'm lovin' it). MC is a gal doing her best to survive in a sequence of post-apocalyptic worlds. Story begins at McDonald's where MC confides in her BFF that her boyfriend is probably trying to kill her/is dangerous. Then the apocalypse (temperatures above what humans can naturally survive, hence her world is called Hyperthermal Hell) for her world descends that night, and she ends up killing her BF, who was trying to literally eat her in a not fun way, with her Post-Human abilities that she recently got. She tried to help her BFF, but found her "dead" before she arrived, and she runs into others (first companions) who have been through other New Worlds, and they give her a run-down on what they know. The multiverse is going through a sequence of Post-Worlds where suddenly an apocalypse descends and forces humans to adapt into Post-Humans (they develop various passive and active abilities to aid in their survival and thriving of the New World phenomenon), perish, or "die" and turn into a "duoluozong" (ex-humans that only retain the negative aspects of their beings, thus ****** them hostile and dangerous to other Post-humans). Duoluozongs remain in that world where they have adapted to suit that environment, and Post-Humans must survive 14-months in each New World before being transported to their next one at random (only exception is an ability dubbed "Consular Officer" where they generally cannot adapt any further once they develop this ability, but they can issue "Visas" to other worlds, a few months before the onset of its Post-World, to others besides themselves). I suck at reviews, but just know that I rate it highly. I like it so much that I vote for it on the power ranking every time so more people can read it.
I dropped it in chapter 134, so the review is obviously up there. The characters and the story are clichéd and without depth, but it's something common in this type of literature (a drunk who sells the castle's lighting to buy booze completely changes his personality and vices and nobody thinks it's strange? The goddess of alchemy working as a maid for two years for someone she hates and despite the powerful father, he sends a bodyguard who at the time was weak to protect someone that any nation would do anything to get their hands? Yes, sure...).But here the lack of human reactions/emotions from the MC and other characters makes the history worse... and to make it even worse the MC just reacts to what happens around him and has no goals...Does he want to expand his empire? No, he just react to aggression (which usually doesn't make sense) to counterattack and conquer territories.Does he want to gather his brides? No, on the contrary, they are the ones who, thanks to the plot, go after him.Do you want to get or beat the parents who abandoned the MC? No.The only thing he does is follow the system blindly, without the ability to make decisions of his own.Another point is his lack of character or humanity... Basically in chapter 133 he killed millions of innocents (whether men, women, children, babies, passing travelers, merchants...) for something he saw in a dream?! And immediately after that he makes a joke using hid intellectual level equivalent to a 5 year old child with the "bride" he called but forgot because he was busy doing genocide. The author must have put this in as comic relief, but it's so stupid it's pathetic instead of funny...I had already seriously thought about dropping it when, a few chapters before, the MC in 2 minutes of conversation decided to kill all the officers of a guild (at the time he killed the two leaders) of merchants and stole all their goods, because they had more soldiers than allowed and have been disrespectful and arrogant, and to make matters worse the other merchants of the nation are worried but then they are calm when the king "explains" why he did it, without presenting proof or without making a judgment... who would entrust their money and your life to such a king and government as this? Not even in the Middle Ages would kings do something so stupid. I had hope that the story would get better, but everything (both the story and the intelligence of the characters) got even worse.
I came for the Martial Arts. I stayed for the Romance... This isn't like any other Wuxia (or Xianxia... I dunno the dif. sorry?) where the main focus is on MC's weak to strong story. It mainly focuses on MC's love story. Demmit, it even gave me lessons about how to approach a girl and stuff.. I learned together with the MC. So if romance is not your thing, and wants more Martial Arts, Weak-to-Stong MC story, then I think this might disappoint you. There is also that, but it doesn't really focuses on that. Its like... 30% Martial Arts, 70% Romance... and just let me tell you this, the Romance here is SO F'King GOOD that it may cause you to have a diabetus. Seriously, it's so sweet, and imo, it's also more realistic than other stories. Also, the story is also in the MC's perspective. A guy's perspective and rarely shows the girls' perspective, not until the later part. Seriously, its a Great read.
If you like intricate cultivation systems and cold MC's, this novel is most definitely for you. I had/have a lot of fun writing Ryu and GAB martial world and hope you have as much fun reading :)
