So this novel takes a different twist on those litrpg crafting stories. To start it off the mc is a grandpa around 65-70 i believe. And as this mc is so old it means he is very experienced. Meaning he's not some gullible, *****, mc. Right off the back that's a big plus for me. Now I dont wanna give any spoilers but I like the way a old grandpa was introduced to the game and picked up crafting of all things. Your gonna have to read to find out, but this is easily my favorite crafting litrpg. I even like it more then Master of All.
Since we can make reviews before it's released... The novel description is like 20 words of meaningless drivel...Now watch this get flamed while they 5 star a novel they haven't read.
It’s typical System overpowered novels....Very bad, the idea is the only i liked...The novel is so simple and boring for me... Typical Clichés, lame mc, lame system...Had a high expectations from it in the first chapters, but it greatly disappointed me!
This review is after reading the first 50 chapters during the trial period. All I can say is - this novel is extremely boring.First off, let me state that I'm not a big fan of Sign In novels. I've always found them to be a really boring type of system, copied from some of the worst free-to-play games. However, I went into this novel with an open mind, willing to give it a chance. The main problem with this novel isn't the Sign In system, but just that it's so incredibly boring. It's written more like a documentary about the life of an immortal, rather than a story of the events around the hero. The author has no sense of how to create tension or suspense in any scene. The MC is an almost emotionless doll that never reacts to anything around him, he's always lost in his own world. Even on the rare occasions that he gets into a fight, he has an utterly deadpan personality, and it feels like I'm seeing the author write about a walking piece of tofu rather than a human being. The fight scenes aren't completely worthless, as the MC uses a silly fighting style similar to One Punch Man, where he kills everything with a single punch, but even that just feels boring because there's no strategy to the fights. The fights get over before they've even begun, and most of the time the MC doesn't even know why the fight happened in the first place, because he's such a boring blob of tofu that he doesn't care to find out.Another serious problem with this novel is how it tries to badly ramp up the drama through scenes where the MC does an "amazing" task in front of other disciples of his sect. The problem is that the author has no idea what's actually impressive to look at through the eyes of a reader. For example, he spends several chapters talking about how "the MC dared to take one more step" in order to obtain treasures or walk on a lake, all while a crowd of background characters keeps shouting out how absolutely amazing it is that the MC can keep taking that step. It feels very artificial and forced, to the point that I want to puke just thinking about it.On the positive side, because the MC is so utterly bland, some of the side characters appear more relatable. There's a female character, a senior sister, who's actually wiling to listen to the MC's advice and words, and there's a senior brother who takes him seriously and accepts him as a rival on the path of cultivation. The problem is just that they're still incredibly shallow, up to the point I've seen. Rather than have independent personalities of their own, they feel like they were specially constructed characters created just to make the MC look better. The story tries to show us that even for a genius MC, it still takes hundreds of years to walk down the path of immortal cuktivation. While that's a nice mindset to have, the problem is when there's nothing at all happening during all those hundreds of years.TL DR : It's a boring story about an unexpressive MC doing nothing but cultivating for hundreds of years.
This is a very good novel. I very much enjoyed reading this since the plot was good pretty much all the way till the end (For me the end wasn't too satisfying but it was ok). The grammar is without problems which is something I consider a must when reading...All in all, highly recommended to anyone who likes this gender.
My hands down favorite story on this site. When ever your story is updated I'll stop what I'm reading at the moment and read the chapter. keep up the great work!
Its a light hearted story and I enjoy the fact that everything is literally handed to the protagonist. Not only does it make the novel a lot better but it makes for a more enjoyable and smooth read.I especially like the fact that the protagonists character changing but at a very slow and barely noticeable pace, making the story that much more enjoyable, thus we are literally watching a good tempered and moral protagonist sink into the mire though not totally as he does have solid principles but yes he is sinking. next i like the pace of the novel, not too slow and not too fast, just enough to enjoy it, events occur in a manner in which there is no teasing or torture. All in all I do highly recommend reading this novel, although short it seems to have a lot of potential.
Okay so this whole sequence where Wen Ling rolls up to the Wen residence with Gu Chenran is just *chef's kiss*. Let me break down why it works so well. First, the setup: the family is standing at the door dressed in their finest, looking like they're expecting someone important. The reader immediately thinks — are they waiting for Wen Ling? And then the narrator drops this line: "That shouldn't be the case. Given what they had done, probably never expected her to return at all!" BOOM. Instant dramatic irony. We know something they don't, and it makes every second of them standing there even more satisfying. Then Wen Ling steps out of the carriage and flashes them a "carefree, sweet smile" while saying "Did you all know I was returning today and came out to wait for me?" — this is the kind of line that makes you want to scream into a pillow because it's SO GOOD. She's being polite on the surface but absolutely eviscerating them with subtext. And Wen Tingyun's first question? "Wen Ling, you're not foolish anymore?" Not "how are you" or "welcome home" — just straight to the point about her intelligence. This man has never once seen her as anything but a disgrace. The fact that he frames it as a question like it's some kind of miracle is just peak villain energy. Then Wen Ling casually drops the poisoning bomb: "On my wedding day, I was poisoned, passed out, and when I woke up, I was no longer foolish." And the family's reaction? Wen Tingyun gets mad not because he's worried about her but because his political enemies might investigate. Madam Liu tries to deflect with "we have important matters today." Wen Haitian calls it fabricated and asks if their home is a court of law. These people are absolutely vile and the author doesn't even need to make them cartoonishly evil — their own words do the job perfectly. The plot here is doing SO much work. It's advancing the main storyline (Wen Ling's return, her changed status), it's revealing character through dialogue, it's setting up future conflict, and it's giving us that satisfying face-slapping moment all at once. This is how you write a reunion scene.
Narration is very poor..the plot is good..author has right idea but is unable to express it in novel..when you read a novel you start to live it only then you enjoy it..author is not to the point to make you feel fall into the imagination world ..it gets awkward in story from time to time.
Good read and very addicting once you get into it, a little annoying that it comes out once per day but good build-up to an eventual climax
