Okay so let me just say—this chapter is where everything clicks into place and I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat. Song Wanyue and Jiang Ze forming their partnership is such a smart narrative move. On the surface it's a transactional alliance: she needs his connections to the Jiang family in the capital, he needs her help dealing with his enemies. But the author is playing four-dimensional chess here. Every time they talk, there's this undercurrent of mutual calculation, and yet... something else is simmering underneath. Jiang Ze's internal monologue at the end, thinking about marrying her and having a daughter who looks like her, completely reframes their entire relationship. What started as a business arrangement is quietly becoming something real. And the subplot with Zhou Shanshan and Chen Jiefang? Brilliantly woven in. Song Wanyue isn't just using Jiang Ze—she's using the entire village ecosystem. The aphrodisiac, the five yuan bribe to Li Yu, the timing of when Yang Liu would 'happen' to walk by... this is a plot that respects the reader's intelligence. No deus ex machina, no convenient misunderstandings. Just cold, calculated strategy executed to perfection. The only question now is: what happens when Jiang Ze finds out his real family is the very people Song Wanyue wanted to expose? That tension is going to be delicious.

The story is really great, but you got to bypass some wrong names. Like Long Tianyu can accidentally become Long Tianhao. Also, the chapters updates are really really duper slow. I estimated the update is only one chapter per week. Too slow already. Better to slowly unlock, and slowly read.
I enjoyed the book. Well placed plot. Fun and relatable characters. Would recommend. Excited for the next book.
