The plot is quite good but man it's capital H horrible mc's age is mixed up so is the simple calculations and how the hell did he finish reading an entire library in a few month and most of all the writing quality is horrible.
It starts off with ok grammer and a ok story but then it goes down hill fast. The mc is reincarnated but he acts childish, any problem he faces he hypnotizes people. The grammer gets so bad i don't know what is going on in certain parts of the story. Also it uses greek terminology which is find but its never explained what the words mean, so its gibberish mixed in with ****ty grammer. ?
Brilliant! I am tempted to pay for advanced chapters. I have to really appreciate the quality of translation. Author is very well read and writes at very high level which the general audience of webnovel does not deserve.Regarding the genre of novel it has mixture of psychological horror mystery thriller. It’s one of the most unique novels on the site. The MC is very logical. The world building has been brilliant and lot of attention is paid to small details.I am a pessimistic man. Brilliant as this novel is, it’s not going to be appreciated by most of people here who look for instant gratification Mary Sue cultivation novels. I am pretty sure webNovel considering the decreased revenue will drop like it did with countless other novels. So, I can only humbly request people who really like the novel to support the novel with votes and money to keep the translation ongoing. We all know the pain of quality translation being halted. So, let’s support the author and translator so that complete novel translation comes to fruition.
This Deserves an oscar... The character designs and names and how the author was trying to compare real life celebrities to characters was a out of place, but don’t misunderstand im really tired of those long chinese names that is hard to spell and remember compared to names in the novel like michael, gaya, claire and more is really making it easy to swallow. Tbh except that part everything impressed me. I think if you gave it a chance by reading 5-8 chapters you wont stop until you finished ?.
I've been thinking about the aconite passage for HOURS. Let me break this down because it's not just a random botanical reference—it's the KEY to understanding everything about Qin Shu's arc. The text literally says: "Aconite Root. Pungent and sweet in flavor. Extremely hot in nature. Highly poisonous... Restores depleted yang, rescues against collapse, dispels cold, relieves pain." Read that again. It's poisonous. It's also medicinal. It saves lives AND takes them. The author is telling us, through this single herb, exactly what Qin Shu is becoming. The humiliation she endured, Xu Feng's cold scrutinizing gaze—"like the poison of aconite root. They had seeped soundlessly into every corner of her body, leaving behind a heavy numbness." She's not being destroyed by poison. She's being TRANSFORMED by it. And then the food scene—the braised pork, the crystal shrimp dumplings, the jujube paste cakes. All of it described as suffocating, nauseating, rotting. The luxury isn't a gift; it's another form of poison. Qin Shu's decision to keep it, to not throw it away, mirrors her decision to keep the aconite knowledge inside her. She's not rejecting the poison—she's internalizing it, storing it, waiting. The cold is another massive symbol. Five years of cold. The Side Courtyard is described as "an enormous ice cellar." The rain is freezing. The porridge is ice cold. The food is cold. But cold also preserves. Cold also hardens. Qin Shu isn't being frozen to death—she's being preserved, like something pickled in poison, becoming something that can survive indefinitely. And Nanny Zhang crying over a greasy stain? That's the theme in its purest form—the invisible wounds, the things nobody else notices but that destroy people from the inside out.
