I need to be honest—on the first read, the stockpiling chapters felt kind of repetitive. Restaurant, hotel, bubble tea shop. Restaurant, hotel, bubble tea shop. Night market, dessert shop, noodle shop. I caught myself skimming a little because the pattern was so obvious. But then I re-read it with that in mind, and I think the repetition is actually doing something clever. It's not filler—it's building a sense of obsession. You're supposed to feel like, 'okay she's done this like twelve times now, does she ever stop?' And the answer is no, and that's the point. This isn't a hero who goes on an adventure. This is someone consumed by preparation. The structure also has this nice rhythm where the daytime stockpiling ( Chapters 10-11) gives way to the nighttime training (Chapter 12), which then loops back to more daytime buying (Chapter 13). It's cyclical, almost hypnotic. The chapter breaks act like breaths between sets. What saves it from being tedious is the hidden space evolution. Every time she returns there, it's changed—bigger, brighter, more alive. That's the payoff for sitting through another round of '100 portions please.' The space growing mirrors her power growing, and it gives you a reason to keep turning pages even when the external action is the same. The author knows the routine could drag, so they sneak in micro-rewards.

This book is great!! Sometimes I was so frustrated but it was worth every second angst!!! Very much looking forward to this authors next book!!!
