"She'll hear you if you let out a sound."
Noticing a strange chakra pulse in Danzo's body, Kai-La sped to Danzo and ripped the arm off. He threw it into a pocket dimension for later study. 'Glad I was able to do that before anything happened.'
Nick had muttered that last bit under his breath. He friend didn't just latch onto general conspiracies....he also chose to propagate some really out there topics.....like aliens.....or zombies.....or human cattle farms.
"Terserah lo aja, asal jangan restoran seafood!" Balas Irfan.
Brother had always worked for long periods of time but he was never late coming home. But today something is different he had come home extremely late and had not once looked or said " Hello " to me. Like he had something important in mind but didn't tell the servants or butlers when he would be home or when he was leaving at all today.
He had hoped Nunnally would be able to remain hidden for at least a few weeks, not a few days. He would have to have her moved soon. But where? And more importantly, how? He couldn't simply move her to another of his friend's vacation homes. That move was too predictable. But nor could he simply commandeer a house for her. That would cause too much of a commotion.
A little out of breath because of his out of shape body and his short legs he told the shopkeeper "Give me all the roses you have at this little shop of yours"
Darlton lunged forward, thrusting his blade at Suzaku's center. The boy deflected the strike and tried to land one of his own. Despite his size however Darlton was amazingly agile, twirling his sword about and deflecting Suzaku's swing. Before the young man realized what was happening Darlton was inside his guard and slammed a fist into his chest. The wind knocked out of him, Suzaku stumbled back even as he desperately raised his blade to shield himself. Darlton effortlessly parried aside the feeble swings but did not move in for the kill. The reprieve gave Suzaku time to recover and his movements regained some of their original vigor. He was still on the defensive however as Darlton kept advancing on him.
"You need to slow down. You're getting near the room where keeping the agents. We have to go by quietly. Or, wait for the distraction."

"Coo congratulations host for acquiring a total amount of loot equal to 53 silver!"
I need to address the pacing because the author has absolutely no mercy and I respect that. Chapter 1 opens with atmospheric setup—snow, cold, a procession of officials arriving at a post station. You're settling in, thinking this is going to be a slow burn. And then Liu Yishan opens his mouth and drops the bomb: the body was cut into four parts and reassembled. Just like that. No warning. No gradual reveal. You go from "oh nice winter atmosphere" to "someone turned a third-rank official into a puzzle." Then the forensic examination kicks in and the pacing shifts again—slower, more methodical, letting you absorb the details. Qi Xun takes her time. Song Huaijin gives her space. The reader breathes. And then just when you think we're in the investigation phase, Xie Nanke returns with the list of arrivals and the Northern Army guy appears. Boom. New suspect. New weapon connection. New mystery. "On the third, another man arrived. He carried only a travel document stamped with the commander's seal of the Northern Frontier Army. The station clerks do not know his name." No name. That's the kind of detail that should be a red flag but the author plants it so casually you almost miss it. And then the mo dao connection—Qi Xun deducing the weapon from the wound patterns, linking it to the Northern Army, and Song Huaijin immediately connecting the dots. The pacing here is like a trap closing. Each piece of information locks into place and suddenly the net is tightening. Chapter 2 starts with the frozen body theory and then pivots to the Guanyin Temple superstition. The structure is clever—each chapter ends with a question that makes you immediately start the next one. Chapter 1 ends with Liu Yishan's panicked deflection about divine punishment. Chapter 2 ends with him doubling down on the temple theory. The tension doesn't release; it compresses. By the time I finished chapter 7, my phone was at 12% battery and I had zero regrets.
