Let me just appreciate how the author stages this entire sequence. It's like a play in three acts, and every act has its own visual composition. Act one: the interview room. We never actually go inside, which is smart. We only hear Factory Manager Yang's hearty laughter from behind the door. That sound does more work than any description could — it tells us everything about Luo Feifei's performance without showing us a single word she said. Meanwhile, Gu Shaonan is pacing outside, confidence crumbling in real time. The contrast between the warm laughter inside and the cold dread outside is perfect. Act two: the hallway confrontation. This is where the worldbuilding really shines. The Personnel Director's loud, clear voice carries through the hallway — and suddenly there's an AUDIENCE. People walking past stop to watch. 'Isn't that Section Chief Gu?' 'Could he be the future brother-in-law?' The factory workers become Greek chorus, commenting on the drama, judging Gu Shaonan's entitlement. That one line from the workshop supervisor's nephew — 'Some people get a tiny title and let it go straight to their heads' — that's not just dialogue, that's the entire working-class ethos of this setting speaking. Act three: the factory gate at dusk. Chen Qinghe waiting there with her soft, coquettish tone. The contrast between her performed sweetness and Chen Bin's raw, ugly outburst. And then Lin Sui stepping in front of Luo Feifei like a shield. The image of the two girls walking away together, light skirts swaying, leaving all that toxicity behind — that's the final shot of the sequence, and it's gorgeous. The author also nails the domestic atmosphere in the second half. Luo Feifei's small apartment, the groceries on the floor, the tiny sofa where Lin Sui guides her to sit. These ordinary spaces feel lived-in and real, which makes the emotional revelations hit harder.

"This is pure gold! I can't find a cuter, fluffier, and more adorable dog-man character like Cheng Jun anywhere. Wow! My fellow reader has covered all the points I wanted to share about this book. Each character is lovable, and the storyline is satisfying. The author's touch in showing the original FL's regret at the end, even briefly, adds realism. It's rare to see antagonists express remorse in novels; usually, they focus on the main characters' growth.
I appreciate how the FL retreats after accidentally overhearing ML's confession. It resonates with me, as she values not wasting his time or emotions. When ML finally confesses, I was in tears – he's so可怜. There are also some heart-wrenching moments, which made me cry again, but ultimately left me content.
The ending, a concise three words, left me speechless, yet it perfectly suited the situation. A word of advice: if you're planning to win someone over using Google, first read other reviews to avoid an embarrassing mishap, like what happened to ML and his friend."
In short, the book is delightful, with relatable characters and a well-rounded story that includes unexpected emotional depth. The ending leaves a lasting impression, and the author's storytelling prowess is evident.
