I've heard, I just haven't gotten around to reading it yet! There are a few big stories that I haven't dug into, but I only recommend what I've read, so there are more than a few very popular webfics that still aren't on the list.
I finished reading the book within two days, but I'm quite frustrated. The main character (MC) or female lead was unexpectedly annoying. While I understand that some level of cringe-inducing behavior is expected in a romantic subplot, her interactions with others – her grandpa, family, friends, and acquaintances – were off-putting. It felt like she was living in a video game, being careless and distant most of the time.
The male lead (ML) received a 7.5 out of 10 rating. He wasn't necessarily bad, but缺乏 depth in his character development. There wasn't much interaction, and he came across as bland, with a sweet background but never really utilized his power. Even his supporting characters had more presence than he did.
One glaring inconsistency was the sudden bravery displayed by the ML when fighting a powerful spirit, which didn't quite make sense given his background. The ending was rushed, with a climactic battle against a drought demon, and the MC suddenly becoming the Sixth Artifact. The resolution was hasty, with reincarnated spirits appearing and disappearing to defeat the demon without proper explanation or emotional moments.
There were numerous plot holes that left me questioning the narrative. However, despite these flaws, the book was decent if you're not too picky about intricate plots and character development. I particularly enjoyed the backstory of Feng Lou and Jing Li, which would have been nice to explore further in a separate story.
The relationship between the ML and MC felt somewhat lacking, especially considering the summary hinted at more intimacy. Their interactions could have been more passionate and affectionate; the ML seemed to consent to the MC's advances, so there should have been more sweetness between them.
Chen Yang has been my favorite character so far, and I've heard there's another novel featuring him! Could someone kindly inform me if such a book exists? I'd love to read more of his story.
The constant stream of misunderstandings has become incredibly exhausting to read through. It seems like in every chapter, there's another misunderstanding piled on top of the previous ones. The issue is that these misunderstandings feel overly contrived rather than organic – as if the author is deliberately weaving them into the story just for the sake of conflict. Frankly, it's quite draining. I might give it a try once everything is translated, but I'm skeptical, because even reading the untranslated source material is already quite frustrating.
"Copycat" left me captivated from the very first page. The intricate weave of a protagonist's struggle with identity and the dark allure of mimicry was both thought-provoking and gripping. The narrative unfolded with a sinister charm, keeping me on the edge of my seat as I delved into the psychological battle within. Its exploration of morality and the thin line between inspiration and obsession made for a compelling read. A must for fans of psychological thrillers that linger long after the last turn.

All it took for me to start this was the "unreliable narrator" tag. Updating in about 50 chaps to see if it's truly good.
