Literally an abomination of a novel.

A compelling narrative deserving a rating of 3.5 to 4 stars would have been given, had it not been marred by Fenrir's subpar AI translation. The series' magical elements are intriguing, and the characters,尽管有些令人烦恼, exhibit depth in their complexities. The protagonist, Flan, is captivating and not overly powerful in an implausible manner. However, the experience is severely hindered by constant confusion regarding character genders – often, it's unclear whether someone is male or female – and misnamed characters that persist for chapters due to a lack of proofreading. It's astonishing that with just three hours of effort, I corrected 30 errors myself, while the team posts two chapters daily without dedicating any resources to fix these mistakes. It's simply absurd.

The constant stream of misunderstandings has become incredibly exhausting to read through. It seems like in every chapter, there's another misunderstanding piled on top of the previous ones. The issue is that these misunderstandings feel overly contrived rather than organic – as if the author is deliberately weaving them into the story just for the sake of conflict. Frankly, it's quite draining. I might give it a try once everything is translated, but I'm skeptical, because even reading the untranslated source material is already quite frustrating.

The novel itself holds great intrigue, but my primary concern lies with the translation. To put it succinctly, the reading experience feels strained due to inconsistent gender usage. Characters frequently switch between he and she, causing confusion for readers in determining their genders. Additionally, the translation quality suffers from an apparent lack of attention to detail, as evident by the presence of ChatGPT-like prompts that disrupt the flow, persisting even in the current version.

The monkey's paw twists fate as a novel I once cherished gets rescued by a new translator. However, their "translation" turns out to be an automated effort, with no regard for accuracy, such as consistently misgendering characters – a baffling four gender swaps within a single chapter. It's a jumbled mess of machine-learned translation, and the audacity to charge for chapters is nothing short of disrespectful. This is raw, unedited MT without any proofreading – a true disgrace. Galaxytl, you should be ashamed. I'll keep an eye out for a genuine translation team to give it a proper chance.
