The idea had potential but got bogged down by poor story writing and a poor translation. A similar novel that is much better is "12 Hours After

I don't think this book is worth it
The stakes in this book keep escalating and I am NOT okay. Let's map this out because the conflict architecture is genuinely impressive. Layer one: the bullying. The red-haired boy and his crew are trying to humiliate Zhong Suian in front of the whole class. Classic high school cruelty, but the author subverts it immediately — Zhong Suian doesn't just survive it, she annihilates them verbally. The stakes here are social survival, and she wins. Layer two: the economic system shock. Zhong Suian discovers that her wealth is LOCKED and she has to work menial jobs to unlock it. This is a fascinating twist on the transmigration genre — usually the protagonist just gets rich and flexes. Here, she's technically a millionaire but functionally trapped. The stakes are autonomy. Layer three: the boyfriend. This is where it gets personal. Lin Zixuan wasn't just cheating — he was PERFORMING poverty as a calculated strategy to access Ye Qiaoqiao. He manipulated Zhong Suian's feelings for three months as a means to an end. And the worst part? He was having lunch with his friends RIGHT NOW, laughing about how easy it was to fool her. The stakes here are emotional devastation, but Zhong Suian's reaction is remarkably cold. She doesn't cry. She doesn't rage. She just kicks the door open and drops the family bankruptcy news like a mic. What's brilliant is how these conflicts interlock. Ye Qiaoqiao orchestrated the bullying. She also orchestrated the boyfriend's deception. They're not separate enemies — they're the same web. And Zhong Suian is starting to see the whole thing clearly. The cliffhanger about the family going bankrupt raises the stakes to life-or-death territory. This isn't just social drama anymore — it's survival.
Thanks for the update, author!
