Waiting for an update ???
At the end of the day, is it worth the hassle? As for an example, Astral Pet Store is a great novel and to read it up to date i even searched all the translations as well as the chinese release which i read by translating.
Is this worth me burning my time?
LN even though it might never finish, The Mc in the WN is so trash
banned in china so probably hiatus
Its really good but at the same time this novel is a pure info dump.
Black plain
"A masterpiece indeed ??????... Everything was flawless. The highlight was Grandpa Wu Li, oh boy, he was absolutely hilarious ????, even in the afterlife, he maintained his unapologetic and lively spirit. Chen Yu and Lou Ming were an ideal pair ???."
So far, things have been going well, and I'm really enjoying the experience. However, I've noticed a few issues with the translations. As I read, I came across emojis which were new to me in this translated novel, causing some confusion. To clarify, when comparing the translation on Kakaopage, I found discrepancies. The protagonist's mother's name is Ko Hae in the English version, while the original Korean text used Ko Hae-Seong.
Additionally, there are some grammatical inconsistencies and errors throughout. For example, in a spoiler, the title of Ko Hun's first exhibition, "Sunflower," is inconsistent – sometimes it's "Sunflowers" without brackets, sometimes it's lowercase, and at other times it has the brackets but not the plural. It can be quite confusing.
I'm relatively new to the story, so I'm hoping these issues will improve as we progress. I understand that everyone starts somewhere, but the inconsistencies bother me, disrupting the flow of reading. I appreciate the translator's efforts, though. When I genuinely enjoy a book, I tend to be more critical of the translation.
To be honest, I don't mind minor errors, but the inconsistency is difficult to overlook. The translation improved around Chapter 5, but my initial disappointment with the earlier chapters made me temporarily discontinue reading. I sometimes wish I were fluent in Korean and had dedicated myself to learning it years ago when I had the energy and time.
In summary, while I'm enjoying the story, I hope for a smoother translation experience moving forward.
Having ventured into "The Diamond Field," I found myself captivated by the vivid storytelling and the intricate web of characters. The narrative, brimming with suspense, effortlessly drew me into the world of gold-seekers in the Wild West. The protagonist's relentless pursuit of fortune resonated with my own sense of adventure, making the journey both exhilarating and thought-provoking. Though at times challenging, the author's deft handling of plot twists kept me hooked till the very end. Overall, a compelling read that left me reflecting on the true meaning of wealth and ambition.
