Okay so I need to talk about this chapter because WOW. The plot just took a hard left turn and I am not ready. Mu Anran gets reborn on her wedding night to Xuan Yuan Beichen and her first instinct is to prove she's not lying about wanting a good life with him. But here's the thing that got me — she's literally trying to make amends, and he's so consumed by past betrayal that he can't see it. The scene where he says "Then please me!" and she kisses him clumsily? That's the moment everything shifted for me. She's trying SO hard to be different this time, but her trauma from the past life is still controlling her body even when her mind is trying to move forward. And then the whole PTSD breakdown — I literally sat there with my mouth open. She's having flashbacks to her past life's hell while he's trying to consummate the marriage, and he has NO IDEA what's happening. The dramatic irony here is absolutely brutal. He thinks she's faking or using this as a bargaining chip, but she's actually reliving nightmares from another lifetime. The line "In this life, I will surely make you be torn to pieces" when she's half-conscious — that's the revenge plot bubbling right under the surface. This story is setting up this gorgeous dual narrative: the outward marriage reconciliation AND the secret revenge against Xuan Yuan Haoyu. I'm already obsessed with how these two threads are going to collide.
Great story!!! Deserves all 5 stars. It has great pacing, steamy smut, mystery, drama, angst, sorrow, epic battle and a HEA. Highly recommended read.
what's with the new filler episode of kaze and Samson dragging for more than 100 chapters. it's good to reveal him as the good of War, and him and his wife should leave happily ever after gosh stupid book so far
