if really reading you will know Travis is holding on to a big secret and believe never cheated on jasmine. also believe he deserves to have the right to choose if he wants to be a father or not, not the choice be made by the other parent not right regardless if the relationship failed or not.
Okay, let me just say this: the package scene is absolutely brilliant plot construction and I need to talk about it. On the surface, it's a simple delivery moment. Cheng Ning's family sends supplies, but the sack is labeled with Han Dongyuan's name. The boys assume it's from his family. Cheng Ning has to correct them. But underneath that? The author is doing so much work here. First, we learn that Cheng Ning herself packed those sacks before coming to the countryside. She wrote Han Dongyuan's name on them. Why? For convenience during transport, she says. But come on. She's sending food to HIM, not to herself. That's not nothing. That's not casual. That's someone who has already decided, on some level, that this person matters to her. Then there's the workshop subplot running parallel. Han Dongyuan is building something real here—this bamboo and wood workshop, hiring a retired carpenter, fronting all the costs himself. The factory isn't just a plot device for economic development; it's character revelation. He's the kind of person who acts first and explains later. Who takes on burdens so others don't have to. Who says 'I'll cover the initial expenses myself' without hesitation. And Zhao Zhi! Oh my god, Zhao Zhi watching Cheng Ning and then breathing a sigh of relief when she says Han Dongyuan never mentioned the workshop to her. That tiny moment tells us everything about the social dynamics in this compound. Zhao Zhi is measuring, calculating, and feeling threatened. The romantic triangle isn't even fully formed yet and already people are positioning themselves. The plot here is moving on at least three tracks simultaneously—the romantic tension, the economic development of the village, and the social politics of the educated youth compound—and they're all feeding into each other. That's tight writing.

update!!!!!!!!!!!
I noticed that 4/5 of Author's books are marked "ongoing," which makes me hesitate to start reading them. It would help me a lot to know if these 4 stories are actually incomplete or not - whether by Author or readers, a public comment confirming status would be appreciated!
I'm giving the book a five star because I cannot stop reading it. I'm recommending this sweet and intriguing book. please don't pass without joining me in reading it, thank you y'all. PS: I need more updates.
