the end is dissapointing
A very nice book, good story line and spelling and English is excellent. It’s one of a series, but they all complete so you can read them.
Okay so let me just say—opening a transmigration novel with the protagonist waking up on an abortion table is either the boldest move or the most chaotic one I've ever seen. And honestly? It works. Like, immediately you're thrown into the deep end with Xu Nian, no gentle introduction, no 'oh here's the backstory.' She's getting pinned down, someone's yelling at her, and she's like—what the actual hell. The plot structure here is fascinating because it's doing double duty. On one level, you've got the immediate survival plot: escape the clinic, don't die, figure out where the hell she is. But underneath that, the author is laying down the foundation for what I'm guessing is going to be a much larger narrative about this woman rebuilding her life in 1970s China with a cheat code (the medicinal space). That's the classic transmigration setup but executed with real tension. What really sold me was how the author handles the memory flood. Instead of an info-dump that kills the pacing, it's woven into her confusion—she's disoriented, then suddenly she KNOWS things she shouldn't know, and the reader learns alongside her. The detail about the original Xu Nian being spoiled, drugging a soldier, getting pregnant, then having an affair with an educated youth—it all comes through in this rapid-fire internal realization that feels organic. And that ending! She escapes, runs until she collapses, thinks about her medicinal space, and—boom—it's there. Then her big brother calls out. It's a perfect chapter one hook. You want to know what happens next. Does she go home? Does she confront Qian Wenyuan? What's her plan with this space? I'm already three chapters deep and still thinking about this opening.
great book.
It’s really so sad when I noticed my wife have been sleeping around with men, I trusted her so much but I have clear my doubts when Macio spy team on IG gave me full clone access to her phone.
