A three-year-old gets pushed into a water tank. Someone needs to apologize. This is the kind of thing that happens at any family restaurant on any Tuesday. But the author layers so much beneath this that every line crackles with tension. Yu Yue's internal conflict is the most interesting one. She's trying to be the bigger person — she wants to resolve this quickly, she's not looking for a fight. But Fu Jingyan's behavior keeps provoking her. 'What, is your child a child, but others' children aren't?' This isn't just about an apology — it's about Yu Yue asserting that her temporary responsibility for Huanhuan matters, that she has authority, that she won't be dismissed. And Fu Jingyan? He's caught between two worlds. He wants to protect Su Qingyue and Tangtang, but he also can't ignore Yu Yue completely. The moment he says 'I am her temporary guardian now' and he FROWNS — that's the conflict. He's used to Yu Yue being sensible, being easy to manage. Her sudden assertiveness throws him off balance.
