I need to talk about this man. Lu Lincheng. Oh my god. The man is a walking contradiction and I am HERE for it. On one hand, he comes home after supposedly being on set, sleeps with his amnesiac wife, and then the next morning looks at her like she's inconveniencing him by existing. "I just don't feel anything for you." BRO. That is not a line you drop after literally having sex with someone. The audacity. The absolute gall. But here's the thing that got me — and this is what makes him interesting and not just a cartoon villain — when she tells him she doesn't feel anything either, his face turns "pitch-black, like the bottom of a burnt pan" and he says "f***." That reaction. That is NOT the reaction of a man who feels nothing. That is the reaction of a man whose ego just got absolutely dismantled by the one person he thought he had completely figured out. And Liang Yan's transformation is equally fascinating. The text makes it clear that the old her would NEVER have talked back to him. Jiang Mu even says so: "the old Liang Yan would've never dared argue with Lu Lincheng." But the new her? She locks the bedroom door as a safety measure, moves out the same day, and starts plotting her career rebrand. She went from fangirl to full-on anti, and honestly? I respect the growth. Their dynamic is electric because neither of them actually knows who the other person is anymore. He's sleeping with a woman who reminds him of his wife but isn't her. She's waking up next to a stranger who happens to be her husband. The tension isn't just romantic — it's existential.
