Peyton never disappoints. This book is great.
I think it was a great story. Perhaps a little too much going on at one time and too much resurrection to be believable, but I did like it. And I am so waiting to be able to start reading the next book, hopefully.
This was my first regency book. I loved it.
The old fashioned setting is described very well. As a woman it makes me feel caged and unhappy. I was scared for Vanessa and cheered her on every step of the way. She’s strong but a strong that fits in the time.

Naming scheme is distracting AF. Couldn't get past more than ten chapters without it getting unbearable. His name used to sound like Lois Griffin from Family Guy, and now his reincarnated name sounds like creepy celebrity Jared Leto. 75% of each chapter is just a solipsism-filled monologue about some bs where he breaks the 4th wall and constantly addresses the reader directly. Maybe 2 things happen for each hundred words inside his head where he's either complaining or infodumping.

i have never seen a novel that loves rape like this one
it is true he doesn't really have much of an ambition and that the power/strength is determined by gene ranking. However, his ambition is actually to just explore the universe and never settle down. He lives for adventure and uncovering new things and he does do so in the entire novel, creating history.
This story had so much potential and plot to it..but the came the MC. Now I don't know if the MC is just dumb or if the author is 4. The MC told another stick that he was blessed by a god (his trump card) and that he use to be a human! He willingly does it! The author makes some BS like nobody's perfect, well clearly not. The author Is so awful with common sense that I instantly dropped the novel.
Is this on hiatus or is this dropped?
If it's dropped then is there an ending?
