Great series, great books, great author. five it a chance. You won't regret it.
Author ,why only one update for today? Please you can’t make us go hungry for the whole of yesterday and give us just one update today ooo… please I am eagerly waiting for what seductress Marlie is gonna do and how my bro Chad is gonna react.
The Night Of The Rouges is my favorites, and surprise when I saw the second book released! Yes please! It's an amazing experience reading the daily updates and anticipation, build up tension, all the emotion, lust and unexpected twist of events. Bravo Alle, you hypnotized us all with your writing!

I loved this book! I couldn't put it down!
'Sister-in-law, I brought you something to eat!' — this line hits different when you realize Shen Qingli actually cooked this herself. The author just casually drops in that she brought lunchboxes with meat and vegetables and it looked appetizing. That's it. That's all we get but I can picture the whole scene. The hospital ward, the window by the table, the thump of Mu Xunran putting down his bag. It's not described in gorgeous detail but it's enough. You can feel the fluorescent lighting, the institutional smell, the awkwardness of three people who don't get along sitting in the same room. The moment when Wang Mei's daughter-in-law shows up to return the money is such a small scene but it does so much work. It tells us Zhou Chengye was paying for a caregiver, that the Mu family was providing money, that Zhou Chengye is trying to maintain some independence even while hospitalized. And then Mu Xunran snatching the money away before Zhou He'an can take it — that little gesture says everything about his need to control the situation. I also love how the author uses the bicycle as a detail. Mu Xunran has to use his bike to take them home. It grounds the whole thing in a specific time period without the author having to explain 'this is 1970s China.' The canned food factory job Shen Qingli is waiting for, the mother-in-law who can't continue caregiving, the money being counted and recounted — all of these small details build a world that feels lived-in. Not flashy, not cinematic, but real.
