This is a very good book but the author is no consistent in keeping it updated. Understand things do happen but at least keep your readers in the loop of how long it will be before another update.

So far I am loving this book, it’s a good read some things are kinda frustrating at times but that’s what makes it good, honestly I haven’t figured out why Sebastian still treats her horribly even after he finds out the truth about Tamara. I am hoping he gets to where he falls in love with her

I'm not even going to try to be analytical about this one. I just need to talk about how this section made me feel. The moment that wrecked me was when Lin Yi looks up at Lu Jinghan with that completely lost expression after not hearing what he said. Lu Jinghan had just been about to say something soft — something like "I was too harsh just now" — and then Lin Yi just looks at him like a confused puppy. And Lu Jinghan swallows it. "Nothing." He lets the vulnerable moment die because he doesn't know how to be vulnerable. That's not just good writing — that's a portrait of a man who has learned that softness gets you hurt. And Lin Yi! This kid who picks up a little girl named Ah Yun and somehow turns her into a foodie, who carries water from the river to irrigate crops, who makes crème caramel in a post-apocalyptic kitchen — he's just so genuinely good. The scene where he's lying on his bunk bed at night, tossing and turning, desperately wanting to check his wrist terminal, and then having to just... not? That's such a human moment. We've all been there. The addiction to validation, the compulsion to check, the awareness that you shouldn't but you can't help yourself. But the line that I keep coming back to is this: "People who work the land are never short of patience." Lin Yi is planting seeds for a future he might not even see. He's building an irrigation ditch that will benefit refugees he'll never meet. He's making a bet with Du Hong about wheat that won't germinate for two weeks. Every action he takes is an act of faith — faith that tomorrow will come, faith that his efforts will matter, faith that the world can be better. There's something deeply romantic about that, even though this isn't a romance novel. It's the romance of hope. Of choosing to plant seeds in a wasteland. Of waving your hand at a camera and saying "hello, everyone" when the world has every reason to be cruel. That's what stayed with me. Not the viral moment or the wristband confiscation or the cooking stream — but the quiet, stubborn act of believing that something good can grow.
