Okay, I need to talk about Lei Ting because this dog is honestly the MVP of the entire chapter. Like, think about it—a dog who runs mountain trails at dawn, catches pheasants and rabbits, knows how to wash fertilizer off rapeseed (don't ask me how), and still finds time to bring eggs to the table. This isn't just a pet. This is a full-fledged family member with opinions, dignity, and apparently a very active social life with Qiao Huan. But the real character moment for me was Lei Ting's reaction when Qiao Huan casually drops the bomb about kissing her future husband. The dog just... stops. Buried its head in its nest. No more tail wagging. It was hit so hard it went into shock. I literally laughed out loud. The author wrote: "Life is sad for a dog. Don't disturb me when I'm sleeping!" and I was wheezing. Then there's the Jian Ying dynamic. She's fifteen, an orphan, and the first time she really opens up is on the walk home with Lei Ting escorting her. She talks non-stop to the dog about her grandma. When she gets home, she's a chatterbox. But at Qiao Huan's place? Silent. That contrast tells you everything about her—she's guarded, used to being an outsider, but she's slowly letting people in. And Qiao Huan notices all of it. She sees Jian Ying's shyness, her guilt about wanting to play with other kids, her desire to earn her keep. The way Qiao Huan hands her two chicken legs and says "before you can become stronger, you must first learn to accept your own weakness"—that's not just a cooking lesson. That's life advice wrapped in a threat. I love it.
A great start to a fantasy story. it is clear the author puts a lot of effort in world building and the writing is good. Good luck on the new book.

the novel isn’t bad at all if you like really overpowered mcs then you’ll like it but the way he gets his power ups doesn’t really even make sense and he jus gets them for the sake of the story. Besides that the story is alright it’s pretty cliche but we don’t get any world background or anything about the power system at all. The characters are also really one dimensional. Personally i think it jus needs more time in the oven
The MC was complaining about morals at the start of the book, but it was a decent start. Eh, Why would he question his morals about doing anything possible to survive? Nature has always been cruel and heartless toward all who draw breath equally and live under its control.The MC was a person who died and then transmigrated into another world into the body of a handsome noble with gold eyes and black hair named Noir. The world seemed to have been a story in their previous life if I'm getting that correct.The MC seems to be taking advantage of his knowledge of this world from reading about it in his old life. He seems to have a decently strong determination since it was shown he was willing to go through great pain to obtain the opportunity he saw in the book in person with his effort.The power system seems to be rather unique with light and dark themes for how power is gained in these 'paths' and 'steps' in the path to power.The MC seems to be taking the dark path in this power system. Only eight chapters as of now, but it's pretty so far though. By the way author, please try to give other POVs of other characters in the future if possible, or reaction chapters to anything the MC does big.
It's really unfortunate for the main character, but I'll be honest, your writing is really neat, and everything written is easy to read and understand, not messy. And the plot is also quite impressive,I will wait for the next chapters.
A story that leaves you wanting for more as you read. To me this MC is perfect even with his flaws, when others hide an evil side to a good MC, Lucy is exactly the opposite.
