Story is very mediocre. MC is forced by system to be a fake monk. System forced MC characteristics and attitude towards everyone so basically system is the MC. I feel interaction of MC with other people are very unrealistic. Like everyone who meets MC acts shamelessly and arrogantly with some kind of adversity towards MC for no apparent reason....the plots are too forced.
I am greatly disappointed that now that myself and other readers are paying for translations that they are not available. This author moved to another publisher and I had hopes that translations of chapters would be faster and further along, however, I am seeing that is not the case. I am paying more, however, not getting the expected results of increased payments. Now I hope this is not the case, however, he asked to support him when coming this publisher. Well I am expecting a that chapters will be available more frequently.
I have to give credit where it's due—the author really knows how to paint a scene with just a few brushstrokes. The opening image of the crescent moon hanging like a hook and the night breeze flowing like water immediately sets this melancholy, almost poetic tone. But then it cuts to Ye Ningxin's body aching, her fingers plump as pig's trotters, and suddenly you're grounded in this gritty reality. That contrast is brilliant. The most vivid scene for me was the kitchen description. Just a few lines—"haphazardly placed pots and pans, but aside from that, it was practically empty"—and I could feel the damp cold of that place. Eight eggs in a corner. Half a jar of coarse rice. A small bag of flour. That's it. That's all they had. And yet when she ladled out the egg drop dough ball soup, the aroma was enough to make anyone's mouth water. The author made me literally hungry reading that. There's something so powerful about showing poverty without melodrama and then having someone cook what they have into something that smells amazing. The dilapidated house itself feels like a character. Tattered bed, stars visible through the roof, the mountain path where the original host fell to her death. Every detail reinforces how isolated and abandoned these two people are—exiled to the borderlands, cut off from the court, surviving on nothing. But there's also warmth in it. That oil lamp lighting up a dark room, two people eating soup together for the first time without violence between them. The world feels lived-in and real, not some glossy palace fantasy.
I just love this story and can’t wait for more updates and more Theodore POVs
This book is nice. I'm enjoying reading it but the update is so slow. Why don't you post the chapters you have on Wattpad then write new ones for the weekly update. Nice book. I can't wait to see how things unfold between them.
It is fast paced
This story is getting better. Hopefully her true mate is worthy of Sydney!
Omg amazing story. The charters are sassy but fierce. I can’t wait for more sweet times between the leads.
