The storyline is interesting and makes me want to continue reading. Chapters are repetitive and out of order.

Loved this story. It actually made me tear up. I’m so intrigued by the supporting characters stories as well. Excited to read the next book but it breaks my heart thinking that might be the end of the Black Shadow Pack series. This author does a wonderful job at telling an amazing story.

I need to talk about how the author handles the chapter transitions because honestly this is where the pacing really shines. We go from the high-tension Gu family confrontation—like, full-on dramatic shouting match, Grandpa Gu cursing his grandson, Gu Jingcheng storming out—to suddenly we're in Meng Village and Meng Yu is complaining about being hungry. That tonal shift could have been jarring but it works because it gives the reader a breath after the Gu family explosion. And then—plot twist—the pacing picks back up when we learn about Meng Yao's Space. One minute she's just a girl dealing with family drama, the next she's controlling things with her mind and vegetables are growing at visible speed. The author doesn't linger on the explanation either. She just... does it. Plants seeds, they grow, she figures it out. No info-dump, no lengthy exposition. It's efficient storytelling at its finest. The dinner scene is another pacing masterclass. We start with the parents being warm and concerned, then Meng Yu explodes, then the parents scold her, then she storms off, then Zhao Meilan tries to bring her food and Meng Yao deflects it. All of this happens in what feels like five minutes of reading but covers SO much ground. The cold war that follows—no breakfast, no washed clothes, no snacks—is shown through implication rather than dragged out. I appreciated that restraint. If I had one tiny critique, it's that the transition from the Gu family scene to Meng Yao's Space felt just slightly abrupt. But honestly, that's a minor thing. The overall flow keeps me turning pages.
Read this book. You won’t regret it. Three book series updated daily (she’s on book 2). Lots of content. Quality mixture of storyline and steamy smut. Genuine character growth. One of the most underrated authors on this app. Fantastic.
