This is a series set in a rape/smut/romance/adventure/fantasy/game world with an engaging plot. While none of the elements are particularly unique or distinctive, the fluff scenes are charming and heartwarming. I also really appreciate the relationship dynamics between the siblings. However, the world-building lacks depth and detailed imagery, making it a rather generic medieval fantasy setting. There are a few intriguing concepts, such as the magical motorcycle and the absence of a moon.
The main character (MC) is a typical ultra-submissive young man, a common trope in Japanese yaoi and shounen-ai. Despite his overpowered status, he is overly apologetic and submissive, even in situations where he should stand his ground. During instances of sexual assault, he refuses to fight back or defend himself, choosing instead to scream and beg before ultimately submitting to someone much weaker than himself. Even when his loved ones are in grave danger, he refuses to harm any humans.
The male lead (ML) is a domineering, wealthy royal who is excessively aggressive towards his lover. Despite claiming to care for the MC, he continues to rape and torture him, disregarding the MC’s pleas and tears. This behavior is not only sexually abusive but also manipulative and emotionally abusive, as he denies the MC any privacy or personal space. He shows no respect for his lover, despite the MC's good treatment of him.
The supporting characters are rather one-dimensional. They include an overly emotional transgender woman, a holy younger sister, a character with a hatred for darkness, a cook, an alchemist, and others. The stereotypical younger sister is portrayed as purely good and forgiving, but she lacks depth. All other side characters, whether villains or allies, are flat and underdeveloped.
The plot is somewhat intriguing, centered around uncovering the truth behind a defiled reality to save the world. While not the most original, it is the strongest aspect of the story.
The ML rapes the MC in the prologue, serving as a clear warning to readers about the nature of the content. This transparency is appreciated, as it avoids the trap of a seemingly healthy relationship deteriorating into abuse, which can ruin the romantic element.
The reasons for the ML's actions include saving the MC's life (set in an eroge context), extracting information through torture, and simply satisfying his own desires, regardless of the MC's protests. He continues to engage in sexual activities with the MC even after the MC passes out, which is deeply problematic. An unconscious person cannot consent, and such actions are abusive and harmful. Sex should be a consensual and enjoyable experience, not a source of trauma.
The romantic relationship is fundamentally unhealthy, characterized by the ML's possessiveness, forcefulness, and manipulation, and the MC's inability to assert himself or stand up for his boundaries. This dynamic is distressing and makes it difficult to enjoy the intimate scenes.
Additionally, the series often refers to male genitalia using terms typically associated with female anatomy, which serves to demean the MC. No matter the frequency of ejaculation, a rectum cannot function as a womb.
To avoid the smut and rape scenes, readers can skip the links that redirect to external sites. Unfortunately, these links contain entire chapters, not just the sexual content. To avoid the explicit scenes, readers must still skim through them to access the rest of the chapter.
, this series is a lighthearted but shallow read, marred by numerous rape scenes.
The most adorable thing ever! The story delivers exactly what the summary promised: an obsessive ML, a scummy MC, intense ship dynamics, fan rivalries, and plenty of PDA during live broadcasts, along with the MC entertaining his fans. The narrative structure is straightforward, focusing on its strengths rather than trying to cover too much ground. The MC is portrayed as slightly overpowered or a Gary Stu, but it's due to his curiosity and past as a wealthy young master.
While the MC's skills may not surpass professionals in every aspect, like his first acting performance, he isn't instantly perfect. They share many cute moments, like the ML's willingness to quit acting if it means MC can join, or adjusting schedules for couple variety shows to accommodate MC's studies. Both characters are committed to each other and support each other's growth.
Their relationship is tested by differences in fame and resources, with the ML known more widely, leading to nicknames like wife and sister-in-law, while MC's friends and family affectionately refer to the ML. The ML is possessive but learns to manage his emotions, seeking professional help and becoming more secure after going public. The supporting characters bring humor to the story.
Initially, there were concerns about the relationship in "Perfect Spouse," but these turned out to be unfounded. The discovery of a hidden NPC adds a charming touch, and the characters' reactions to their growing bond are heartwarming.
The fans' journey from skepticism to admiration for the MC-ML couple is a fun arc, culminating in creating a fan group to protect Qiqi from being swooped up by others. Their union solidifies their status as an official couple, setting them apart from other speculative pairings.
What I appreciate about this novel is the sense of "being there" with the characters, who start from humble beginnings and steadily progress. It evokes the bittersweet feeling of life's fleeting nature and the uncertainty of the future, yet offers satisfying resolutions, a hallmark of web novels. As readers, we grow alongside MC and ML, uncertain of what lies ahead but enjoying the journey together. Despite the characters' flaws and challenges, they continue to live their lives authentically.
Great novel but author ruined it, i read 600 chapters and it seems author got bored near 300 and is speeding things up two worlds that would have been great got one chapter each, and the m person shouldnt have been introduced and the w thing i dont want to spoil but those two things ruined novel and is just authors way to speed things up this novel could have easily had few thousand chapters like 2 maybe 3, and what author did in first few was great but now author is just making mc speedrun, mc should have gone to one world got higher level/tier magic and world arc could last 50-100 chapters then we have empire kingdom building 20-50 chapters where we see how empire expands and grows stronger, and then new world and when mcs empire conquers universe or even before he sends people to new universes to get some things and then after universe there wont be many things to do so author could have focused more on kingdom building but yeah he got bored plus uplouds what once a month?
Is that supposed to stop me???
EDIT: this is a joke btw in no way or form do I enjoy lolis
