I need to talk about the emotional whiplash in these chapters because wow. She doesn't have to work at the nightclub anymore. That moment of pure, unguarded joy from someone who has been through hell? It hit me harder than any dramatic confession scene ever could. Then the damp quilt. The mold on the ceiling. The thin quilt that feels slightly damp. Xu Yueyao touches it and just... sits there. She doesn't cry. She doesn't rage. She just looks at it and decides to leave. And Zhang Beilu hugging her and bursting into tears, asking if she's been bullied — that friendship is so genuine it hurts. I think I am in love with this novel. Definitely the best piece of work I've read on WN yet. With beautiful prose and an even prettier storyline to accompany it, Adtraic Verity is surely a great work flowing with care and passion.Asahi and Aletha are a charming pair of main leads, one mature and the other playful, they perfectly complement each other's personalities and clearly depend on each other. The way the author displayed their relationships with the masterfully crafted dialogue is astonishingly good, and that is just the beginning of things.Each chapter keeps getting better in terms of both the intrigue and the plot, the pace is perfect and the descriptions are jaw-dropping. This is definitely going to be a read of a lifetime for many people and I would highly recommend everyone to check it out.
