As of Chapter 461, this Novel has been pretty good. I have seen a lot of reviews talking about some selection process, and I don't really know anything about that, but the novel has one of the better settings I've seen.
The setting is unique and circumstances are interesting. The story takes place on an unknown world after an entire city transmigrated 50-100 years ago. There seems to be a sort of system in place to help limit the destruction, but it seems that in this era its slowly fizzling out. MC has returned back in time after the City was destroyed 50 years in the future, and He has a system that rewards him for contributing to humanity. It really doesn't give him much direction or anything, but he knows the previous history to some extent and works to help the City survive.
Part of what makes this novel different I think is the scope of the decisions the MC has to make as the novel progresses. He starts out dealing with his own issues in his life and affecting the classmates around him, but eventually he has to evaluate the city's society as a whole, but from a position where he doesn't have control. At this point he has a middling amount of influence, but has to tackle society wide problems like inequality, unemployment, and contrasting political factions.
The Cultivation is not really the main focus of the novel at this point, but there is an aspect of detective work, as he remembers who the enemies were, but doesn't remember or know the finer details. There are many unsolved mysteries, and as the scope of the novel grows I'm hoping we get more answers. That is not to say there isn't fighting. There definitely is, but the MC has had to go against the grain of the Society's one-shot fighting style so that everyone can better understand how the future fights will need to be won to minimize casualties. So the MC has less focus on overwhelming power.
The side characters are interesting and varied, although it seems like after a certain point they lose their place as an active member in the story. Not that they are forgotten, because they tend to show up in small ways during crisis, but more that they have lost their place as part of the storytelling. It's a situation where they still exist in the world and are mentioned from time to time, but are not necessarily a device for plot progression anymore. However that does lead to a wide cast of characters, and lets many people become important parts of the story at certain times, and at least the are not completely forgotten.
Overall I would recommend giving this novel a shot. I can't make any promises about what the future holds, but up until this point it has been very good.

no problems with the writing easy to read and the mistakes there is aren't a big deal as there not often. Over all the story is fine but at same time many forced situations and from my initial thoughts on what the story would be from the description of a mc that has to pave his own way in cultivation no matter how stacked against the odds thing are against him with his background and cultivation talent have to say he's had things being pretty convient the whole time. For some reason author has made the concept of strength a cultivator should have at each stage come off pointless. Just makes everything seem completely forced when you have the mc who still at the first tier in cukvation being able to inflict wounds or now even kill someone multiple tiers above his level. Even if the excuse is they were tired I don't see it working why because even a tired body builder is still going to be stronger then a average person, a tired long distance runner is still going to be able to out run a average person. Let alone people that should be hundreds of times stronger then the mc and having abilities like spiritual sense and experienced many years of battle compared to the mc who's still new to all of this. World background honestly is lack luster I don't expect to know of higher worlds or other kingdoms by now but at least give the places the mc is at sense of existence. Descriptions on the size of the location, what's there what it looks like and the people and what there doing. This is good filler and at same time as long as done right meaning full filler because it fleshes out the world the mc is at. The Author deserves praise on the upload rate very rare see a author put out 14 chapters a week when so many struggle to just put out 1.

I have privilege and I’ve bought all the chapters so far, I would know. Honestly, their dynamic relationship is my favorite part about the story!**
It honestly makes me sad to see that people drop this novel after the 6th chapter. The villainess, or Cranberry, and Zombie are around SEVEN years old 6 chapters in. However, she DOES NOT act like a normal child does. Some people also missed the fact that she seems AFRAID of what her mother will do to her when she was beating Zombie. Why? It is revealed at the END of volume ONE. Trust me, you will NOT hate Cranberry. In fact, there is a character you will hate more!
Writing quality: [5/5] It’s good so far. Some typos here and there, but nothing major. Would’ve put 4.5/5, but I can’t do a half star.
Updating stability: [5/5] We’re given 2 chapters a day at 5AM and 5PM PST if nothing happens to the author. 2 a day is plenty already
Story development: [5/5] IMO, the story is amazing. I love the direction the author is taking it and I’m hooked!
Character design: [5/5] I love Zombie and Cranberry’s character and I love their development. The characters are lifelike, but their common sense is obviously different from ours because their world is different.
World background: [3/5] We don’t really know a lot about the world because of Zombie’s rotten brain skill. This means that we can only learn from whatever information Cranberry gives us, if she ever does. In addition, we haven’t started the “otome game” setting yet. I’ll update this when we get there.

I don't normally give 5 stars because even in some fairly well written stories, my bloody persnickety brain notices the flaws, and throws me out of my immersion in the story. While this story isn't perfect, it's well enough written and so enjoyable that the odd small flaw doesn't break the immersion. It's a delight.
The dialog is witty and that's because even the other characters, both in and out of the game, are believably vivid and interesting, let alone the MC.
It uses a classic web novel trope, the respawn, without treating it like a trope. The MC is affected by his death, and past, unlike the typical, "Oh well, that happened. Let's have a good life this time!" reaction you see so often, as if years of life, conflict and death have no impact on the psyche. It also doesn't follow the standard "I will save the world" or "I must become powerful and/or rich" (in either world) plot this time around, despite the MC being weak in his first life. He was weak, but there isn't the bullying, abuse, betrayal by half-brother, fiancee, best friend, step-mother, classmates, etc.. you see in respawn stories.
Too often in a VRMMORPG game novel, after a while, either the game or real life (typically real life) starts to feel either boring, just for word count, or skimping on anything interesting or meaningful. That is not happening in this story, and there are enough plot lines going on that it does not seem likely. As others have said, this is a well thought out story.

I'm even going to read the Jim Daoran's other book, The Slime Farmer, even though I don't like slimes and typically ignore such books, because this author has given me reason to think that he can write an enjoyable story, even with slimes involved. (Don't hate on me about slimes, we all have our likes and dislikes. ;-)
