Too many loop holes in story how come Weston didn't suspect that corpse is not actual Stella and when did Roger brother get chance to change that poison and how did she get pregnant with twins.I mean author has already stated that Stella only kid is dead thousands of time(too unrealistic)

I just finished reading chapters 60-67 and I need a minute because the pacing in this sequence is absolutely ruthless in the best way. Let me break it down. Chapter 60-something opens with what feels like a slice-of-life interlude—honey mint water, family moments, selling food in town. It's warm. It's cozy. You're relaxing, right? Wrong. Because by chapter 64 or so, the author starts threading in these tiny unease signals. Yan Mother mentioning villagers' lips are blistered. The decision to stop selling pig offal because 'it doesn't store well' in this heat. The quiet conversation between Lu Qingran and Yan Zihao about warning the parents. Then the Dragon Boat Festival! A whole scene of normalcy—making zongzi, the family eating together, watermelon for the kids. It's almost too peaceful. And that's when you know the author is winding the spring tighter. By chapter 67, the mask comes off completely. Water levels dropping. Grain prices rising. The village chief being mentioned as someone they'll need to coordinate with. The chapter ends on this note about the rice shop being crowded and prices going up. No cliffhanger question, no dramatic exclamation—just the cold fact that seven wen per jin is the new normal and the harvest is two weeks away. The structure here is brilliant because it mirrors how real disasters unfold. It's not one big explosion—it's a series of small realizations that accumulate until you can't unsee them. The author lets you feel the ground shifting under your feet, one chapter at a time. And I was absolutely hooked the entire way.

Great read so far with a single father. I enjoy the different dynamic of the combination as opposed to the single mother again, which is most common. it's interesting having the man be the caretaker. The story is sweet so far, however updates are slow.
