And then there's the dessert. 'Another famous delicacy—though complicated.' She's not just making one dish, she's making multiple courses, each one requiring precision and timing. The fact that she's calm about all of this, taking her time despite the complexity, tells you something about who she is under pressure. What I find most interesting is that the conflict here isn't dramatic or loud. It's the quiet kind — will the food arrive in time? Will it be received well? Is she trying to prove something through this meal? The author doesn't spell it out, and that's what makes it work. The stakes feel real because they're embedded in the details, not announced with fanfare. This is how you build tension without a single explosion.
