How often do you update ? It’s super good
So far so good, I must say.
I love it, where is the next update?
Great story and very well written
Let me just say this—the opening of Chapter 13 is one of the most atmospheric scenes I've read in a while. It starts with these two random drunk guys in the street seeing 'Black and White Impermanence'—the ghost messengers from Chinese folklore—and panicking. The text says 'the night was quiet, with not even a whisper of wind to be heard. Only the cries of 'ghosts' echoed through the streets.' That contrast between the silence and the panic is so effective. Everyone runs home, the streets empty out, and THEN we cut to Feng Qianqian descending onto a four-story building roof in her 'ethereal white dress fluttering in the breeze, making her look like a celestial being descending to the mortal world.' I could literally SEE this. This is movie-level imagery. The fight itself takes place in 'narrow alleys' and on rooftops, with both characters leaping dozens of meters into the air. Nangong Li's 'Qinggong was exceptional, his movements elusive'—the author doesn't over-choreograph it, which is smart. You get the sense of speed and agility without it becoming a confusing beat-by-beat account. And then the moment he catches her wrist and she's at the edge of the roof, one step from falling, and he pulls her into his embrace—that's the kind of scene that lives in your head. The medicinal fragrance, the sense of familiarity, the way she vanishes into her dimensional space leaving him bewildered. It's romantic tension wrapped in action. Later, the Prime Minister's study scene is a completely different atmosphere—candlelight, scrolls, the Second Concubine massaging the Chancellor's shoulders while discussing dowries and bastard children. It's intimate in a poisonous way, like a snake coiling around its prey. The author shifts tones so smoothly between these scenes.
today is there a update???
Love love love this. Best book I’ve found on here!
Good good I love the story
Nice story...keep it up ...
It's funny how much I enjoyed the second ML, he's so genuine and kind-hearted. I have a weakness for stories where a general and a princess are separated by destiny, even though their relationship might not be romantic in their eyes. In my mind, I can create my own happily-ever-after. If I were a character in the Great Lin Dynasty without any context, I'd probably sigh over the tragic separation of those childhood sweethearts, torn apart by fate. The general is a romantic hero, the princess elegant and graceful, but alas, the nation faces tough times. A spoiler comes with it: they must unite for peace, with the princess marrying the imperial rival (sad smile). >:(
