Okay so I need to talk about this premise because it is genuinely fresh. The transmigration-into-a-villain trope is everywhere, but here's the thing that makes this one click: Xie Chengze's motivation isn't about redemption or even survival in the traditional sense. He's just... done. He reads about his original owner getting impaled on the Dragon Throne by Shen Yuan and his immediate reaction is: the 996 schedule of being emperor sounds worse than death. That's hilarious and oddly relatable. The plot sets up this delicious irony where the Emperor is literally using him as a whetstone to sharpen the Crown Prince's reputation, and our guy just decides to opt out entirely. The Yi Province flood memorial scene is a perfect example of how the author builds tension without any actual violence. The ministers are throwing each other under the bus, the Emperor is playing his political games, and Xie Chengze's response is the ultimate power move of lying flat: "I dunno, ask the Crown Prince!" Watch Xie Jinyu's entire world tilt. This is plot comedy gold.
Oh Kay, I judged too quick, this was an amazing read. Wonderfully written complex characters, great plot, enough drama to keep you reined in and certainly dark

Where is the sequel
Awesome love story! Full of suspense, written well with a great storyline. Love able characters, did not drag, great ending and held my interest from start to finish. Bravo author keep up this great work and I will be looking for more of your completed work.
I randomly found this book. I'm just in the third chapter and I already love it. I believe this is the type of novel I've been looking for and I hope the author will continue to keep this book interesting.
