Many might disagree, but for me, it's one of my favorite stories. Don’t just focus on Fran and "Master"; they do have distinct personalities. I’ll keep it brief because I have so much to say, but I love the story. I’ve read the webnovel, light novel, and manga, and in general, they are all great in their own ways. The webnovel is fantastic, the light novel is sometimes clearer and better connects the story arcs, although I didn’t particularly like a certain part (Volume 3, no spoilers). It’s really good, but they grouped some elements that weren’t closely related to Fran in the webnovel. However, in terms of the overall story, it flows better. The manga is a good read with some additions and omissions.
This is one of my favorite novels, and I’ll leave it at that to avoid writing five more paragraphs. I’m not great at being succinct, but I give it 5 stars. I might add more later, but I wanted to express how much I enjoy this novel without spoiling anything or trying to be overly objective.
Edit 1: Before writing any review, please read at least 30-50% of the story (depending on the chapter count). It’s really frustrating when people form opinions without giving the story a fair chance. I don’t care if you don’t like it, but at least reach Chapter 100 or so (in this case) even if you hate it. This way, you can write a more informed and critical review or perhaps change your opinion. Many novels are slow at the beginning while setting up the story or finding their format, but even these parts can be rewarding if you take your time. For example, "Nigotta Hitomie no Lilianne" is one of the slowest novels out there; it can be tiring, but if you stick with it, it becomes a piece of art in its own right. Good luck, and I know that if you’re the type of person who skips ahead, you probably won’t read this, but it’s worth mentioning. Generally, if a novel is really bad and not well-liked, it won’t get translated, so be critical but don’t attack those who dislike it.
Edit 2: Even though it can influence reader opinions, I never review translations, only the novel itself. I might comment on the translation, but it doesn’t affect my overall review. For instance, in the light novel, they call the dog "Jet" instead of "Reki" and make Fran say "Hmn" instead of "Nh." These small changes can be jarring, but they don’t impact my enjoyment of the story.
Edit 3: I feel the translation will never fully catch up with the original, but I remain hopeful.
I'm loving itttt. ♡♡♡ To be honest, mecha isn't usually my thing. I only rarely read this genre, but I totally love this.
The novel has depth. It doesn't really focus on the BL aspect but more on world-building and action. The characters are also not stupid. They aren't one-dimensional either. There's plot and intrigue.
The BL part should come later. I already have a hunch about who the main love interest is. Hehehehehe

Why the hell would you even tag a book as romance if it never actually happens? (Please do correct me if I'm wrong on that, but I've read enough JP novels to know that tag combination is almost always an exercise in frustration)
Edited: I've decided to drop it. At Chapter 112, once again, romantic moments are ruined by comments like "I sense a woman's scent on you" and "It was just a child I played with." Then comes the inevitable, "Oh, so you used a child for your perverted desires." This is ridiculous. I can tolerate some flaws, but the constant portrayal of the main character as a predator and sexual offender doesn't sit well with me.

Now at Chapter 64, I'm generally enjoying the novel. However, what irks me is the author's contradictory approach. They gradually develop the romance, but persistently insert scenes where the protagonist is labeled as a 'pervert' and 'pedophile.' Really? It's incredibly frustrating and detracts from the story, providing no humor either. It leaves readers questioning if a genuine romantic relationship can even exist within the narrative.
Note: I've been reading exclusively from the Cardboard TL version, which has been great.
I have finished reading the translated chapters and am considering whether to proceed with the machine translation or wait for an official one. Regarding the story, I've really enjoyed it; it's a soothing tale with a relaxed pace, allowing the author ample time to develop characters and reveal the world's intricacies gradually. Misunderstandings seem to play a significant role, and they're handled effectively, providing a logical explanation.
As for the romance, it appears to progress quite slowly, but I appreciate the gradual build-up and my affection for the female characters remains strong. I'd highly recommend giving it a chance; I believe you won't be disappointed, as there's a lot of potential for growth.

Hong Bi-yeon is my favorite character so far.
Try Legendary Mechanic, there's a bit of nationalism among the players, but it's more in good fun most of the time and when it isn't it doesn't last very long, and quite frankly, isn't all that relevant to the story.
