I really enjoyed reading this st
This is one of the best story lines and has some humor in it as well. I'm looking forward to the additional chapters soon hopefully.
I am completely addicted to this story! It's so good!!
Unfortunately, while this book had so much promise, it utterly failed in its execution. There were problems from the beginning, and I believe that the idea was good. I would NOT suggest this book to anyone until the author decides to edit and fix major plot holes and character issues.
Good, was confusing
I've been thinking about the dialogue in this chapter and it's honestly one of the most impressive things about it. On the surface, every line sounds like genuine romantic exchange. But rereading it with the surveillance reveal in mind, the words take on this chilling double meaning. Take Zhou Guchuan's opening: "Lanlan, how about a kiss?" and Yin Lan's immediate "Sure." That's playful, flirty, natural. But now I wonder—how much of this banter is him guiding her, setting expectations, training her to comply with his requests? "Consider your reward given in advance. Now do a good job." That line about the braid? It sounds sweet but it's also transactional. He gives her affection, she gives him compliance. Yin Lan's dialogue is notably simple and warm. "It looks nice. I like it." "As long as they're cooked well, I like everything." "Let's do it!" She's easygoing, agreeable, which makes her the perfect target for someone who wants control. Her voice is genuine—that's the tragedy of it. She's not being manipulated into saying things she doesn't mean; she's genuinely happy, which makes the exploitation so much worse. The most devastating exchange is probably: "Miss, you're dismissing me as soon as you're done using me? Isn't that a bit heartless?" This sounds like playful teasing between a couple. But it's actually him performing vulnerability to keep her engaged, to make her feel guilty for wanting space. And she falls for it immediately—she kisses his cheek and goes inside, completely unaware. The author's dialogue writing is so natural that it only reveals its true nature in hindsight. That's skilled writing.
The dialogue in this novel is a weapon and a love letter, and Jiang Yu'an is its most dangerous wielder. Let me just drop this line and let it sit in the room: 'Poor people's money shouldn't be spent!' He says this while treating a girl to noodles she can barely afford, and the cruelty and the kindness are the same sentence. That is voice. That is authorial control. Every line Jiang Yu'an speaks has at least two layers. 'Little girl, how many points did you get on the recent high school entrance mock exam?' Sounds like mockery. Actually sounds like interest. 'Your solution to question 3 is too clumsy. Look at the back.' Sounds like criticism. Actually sounds like investment. 'Do you know how many beauties at F University are chasing after me, begging to be my girlfriend? How blind would I have to be to take a liking to a little yellow-haired girl like you?' Sounds like arrogance. Actually sounds like someone who has no idea how to say 'I think you're special' without wrapping it in three layers of sarcasm. Mianmian's voice is different but equally precise. She doesn't match his volume; she matches his accuracy. 'Senior, you're already a university student. Why are you still fighting with a junior high student over a desk?' This is not submission. This is a direct hit. She calls him out, and he yields. 'Fine, fine, you win.' He stands up and leaves, returns five minutes later with a folding table. The dialogue here does the physical comedy AND the character revelation in one exchange. The narrator's voice is equally distinctive—dry, observant, occasionally breaking into internal commentary that feels like a friend whispering beside you. 'She discovered this peacock looked quite amusing when he was guilty.' 'It wasn't his usual lazy, teasing smile, but a genuine, amused laugh.' This narrative voice is the glue. It doesn't over-explain. It trusts the reader to feel what the characters can't say.
i guess here author doens't have sence how much a business women can expenses money , she's throwing cash as if she has cash of whole world , she (FL) seems so stupid to me
