The story is nice
Okay so I need to talk about this chapter because honestly it could have been a total snooze fest. You've got five people who just got dumped into a supernatural academy and instead of them immediately getting into some life-or-death situation, they just… sit around eating hot pot and sharing research findings. But here's the thing—it didn't feel boring at all. The author managed to wrap what could have been a massive wall of exposition into something that actually moved the story forward. Every piece of information they uncovered changed how the reader understands the world. The rank system? That's a ticking clock. The three-year limit? That's pressure. The Cinderleaf Planet threat? That's a sword hanging over their heads. And then Su Xi's reveal at the end—that's the real plot twist. She couldn't awaken herself but she might be able to help others? That flips everything we thought we knew about her character. It's not just a power fantasy setup; it's a potential weakness that could become their greatest strength. The structure here is smart because the info-dump isn't just info-dump—it's character revelation through what each person chooses to investigate. Gu Mingjie digs into documents, Jamie and Aunt Wang explore physically, Niuniu finds the rules, Captain Lyu uncovers the threat, and Su Xi discovers something no one expected. Each person's contribution tells us something about who they are while simultaneously building the plot. The only question I have is whether the author is setting up Su Xi as the key to everyone's success or if there's a catch coming. Because in my experience, when a character discovers they have a unique ability that nobody else has, the story is about to find a way to make that ability complicated and costly.

You can't kill Cthulhu or Nyarlathotep, only stop the cultists from summoning them or temporarily prevent them from fully manifesting their avatar." Not really? Since all outer/other gods including Nyarlathotep are trapped thanks to Yogsothoth because him letting them out is Yog's equivalent to letting your arm eat you're leg and if Yog wanted to he could kill them by just completely encapsulating the void in his/her light but then that would just be his equivalent of eating you're own arm. The only way the other gods can get out is thanks to their worshippers trying to summon them and any one else who accidentally summons them like with Nyarlathotep's stone which is also orchestrated by Yog.
