It's refreshing to see that not all female characters are one-dimensional and unlikable. The main characters' interactions are emotionally resonant and endearing; they create a delightful and heartwarming narrative that's perfect for a light and enjoyable read when you're looking for something lighthearted and sweet.
I'm currently reading a book with 55 chapters, but I'm stuck at Chapter 22 due to the intense frustration it causes. The main character's lack of self-defense and justice leaves me boiling with anger. The plot feelspredictable and annoyingly so, as I eagerly await her to stand up for herself, but she consistently disappoints. It's challenging to root for her as a protagonist because of the excessive self-abuse. As a reader, I'm left feeling mad and impatient, despite knowing there will eventually be a turnaround.
The translation quality, however, is excellent. Here's a brief summary of the story up to Chapter 22:
Our male lead (ML) is the classic 'dense but incredible' type, destined to marry our MC. Unfortunately, their journey isn't smooth, as the MC's reputation is tarnished with an 'adultery' rumor linked to the ML, orchestrated by a 'white lotus.' Her family disapproves and pushes for the marriage, leaving her disrespected and unwilling to fight back or clear her name. It seems like the author uses this situation to move the plot forward, but it's frustrating for readers like me.
I apologize if my frustration comes across as disrespectful, but everyone's taste varies. Ultimately, a book's quality shouldn't be determined solely by one person's opinion. Enjoyment is subjective, so I'll leave it at that.
I shed tears at the conclusion, only to be playfully teased by the main character afterward, which turned out to be a hilarious, yet satisfying story – one that left me with a good-natured embarrassment.
