I need to discuss Shen Sigu because this kid absolutely destroyed me in chapter 1-2. On the surface, he's introduced as a five-year-old social butterfly and academic underachiever who thrives on chaos — basically the textbook "troublesome child" trope. But then you see what's actually happening. This kid was made to stand in heavy snow all day because he woke up thirty seconds late. Thirty. Seconds. And the narrative doesn't just tell us this, it SHOWS us through Fu Cen's perspective when he finds Shen Sigu playing happily with other kids in the snow, looking like a little general with a red scarf. The contrast between what the original character did to this child and what Fu Cen sees in front of him is devastating. And then the internal monologue from Shen Sigu's point of view — oh man. The kid has learned to act submissive and obedient because his father (the CEO) literally told his secretary to respond with "The CEO is busy" when the child tried to complain about his stepfather. A five-year-old, rejected by his own father, who has internalized that his feelings don't matter. The detail about his meals being replaced with leeks and cucumbers (his most hated foods) and being locked in a dark room — this is child abuse disguised as "discipline" and the novel doesn't shy away from it. What makes the relationship between Fu Cen and Shen Sigu so compelling is that Fu Cen, despite having social anxiety and wanting nothing more than to escape this situation, immediately goes to find the child. His motivation isn't noble — he's worried about being charged with premeditated murder — but the result is the same. And Shen Sigu's line "I won't ever wake up late again" with his frost-crystal eyelashes blinking away tears... I'm not okay. The dynamic between these two is going to be the emotional core of this story, and I am HERE for it.

tara keep on doing something vicious without being caught. this story portrayed the male lead as stupid. he is being fooled by tara on and on... when all these going to stop.. i'm getting bored ..
