great story and adventure my new favorite novel
This novel is still in its early stages, so it’s not perfect . There are areas where it feels a bit rough around the edges, and there’s room for improvement mostly pacing and romance buildup. That said, the foundation is solid, and i want to see the conquest of the heroines and the downfall of that "protag" bum.

It has to be lower in stars simply because political marriages + enforcing weird women only cultural stereotypes of veils + making another potential love interest also just a pawn. The women suffer more in this novel inadvertently or intentionally, I’m unsure, but it’s not a viiiibeAlso…there is not a single lower review on this novel, which is…interesting

I’m am so enthralled with this story! The writing details make me feel as if I’m actually there. Violet Purple, the Cardinal Alphas, Lila…seriously the character development and story keep me waiting anxiously for each chapter release…I truly cannot wait! Oh so good!
I need to talk about Shen Que because this chapter makes his character absolutely irredeemable in the most satisfying way. Here's a man who returned from four years at the frontier with a foreign princess and a child, immediately seeks to demote his legitimate wife to concubine, and when confronted with the truth that his wife funded his entire military campaign with four million taels of her own dowry and resources—he still demands she apologize. Let me repeat that. He still says "apologize to them and the matter ends here." The man is so deeply entangled in his own self-delusion that he genuinely cannot see Su Ran as anything other than a disobedient wife who needs correction. His line "before marriage everyone praised her as gentle and virtuous. How had she become like this?" is the most revealing sentence in the entire chapter. She didn't become like this. He never saw who she actually was. Meanwhile, Xie Chengyuan watching from the pavilion is a completely different energy. His internal monologue when he sees Su Ran—"the woman he dared not delay for even a moment was now being trampled by others"—and then his immediate rage at Shen Que being called "ungrateful wretch" and "blind and foolish." This man has been quietly, intensely invested in Su Ran since he was poisoned and she saved him. The contrast between Shen Que's blindness and Xie Chengyuan's clarity is almost painful. And Lu Yitang! She and Su Ran's friendship feels genuinely warm in a story full of poison. She shows up, sees injustice, and immediately steps in without being asked. "Seeing injustice on the road, I draw my blade to help!" This is the kind of friend everyone wants. Nan Lexi's relationship with Shen Que is fascinating too—she's playing the long game, using his protectiveness to further isolate Su Ran. The triumph in her eyes when he sides against Su Ran tells you everything.
Such a good story, I hope there’s much update.
Nice character development of the MC. Also the system is consistent not overpowered in an instant which is nice. But author needs to find a new feeding material like demons or monsters for the MC as this will become a villain story if he carries on killing humans.
