It came as quite a surprise to me that this is a Chinese novel, because most Chinese novels with female protagonist will heavily base her story solely around her husband, which is I have come to hate them so much.
This novel may just be what I need.

The author has significantly improved in weaving hints into the story and the broader implications behind the protagonist's job. Readers of *Part-Time Taoist Priest* (if the links ever come back) will remember that there was already a side character who worked as a living psychopomp (走无常), and in *Those Years I Operated a Zoo*, one of the famous members of Hell (Diting) was mentioned. In this story, the entire background of the Hell bureaucracy is meticulously outlined to align with established religions (Taoist and Buddhist aspects) and syncretic beliefs (spirits, demons, foxes, etc.).
Death is a central theme, but most of the details are enriched with Chinese metaphysical beliefs about afterlife bureaucracy—our main character (MC) starts off because the Hell bureaucracy conscripted him into the living psychopomp business, where he meets the male lead (ML) whose soul left his body due to metaphysical reasons.

And in the end, the final boss turns out to be a deity, and the MC, in overthrowing the boss, becomes a living City God. This is a clever twist on the traditional Heaven/Hell dichotomy and highlights that, regardless of time or place, the nature of sentient beings remains remarkably consistent.

The character's mental evolution, particularly due to their race or species, stands out as a compelling aspect, as it breaks from the common portrayal of human-centric thinking in other novels. The translation is exceptional, and I would like to express my gratitude to the translator. Apologies for any errors in my English; it's not my first language.
So, I've already read this novel and there's a translation available, but for some reason, they decided to restart. I'd just like to mention to those giving low ratings that, as the title suggests, the story revolves around daily life, so the pace might be slower. Personally, I've read it before but decided to reread.
In terms of the plot (warning: potential spoilers), Ye Fan's character does stand out due to her unique temperament, even as a newcomer and celebrity. Many experienced actors may not display such behavior, so it's hard to generalize. Overall, I found it decent, and the situations she faced in the story – let's just say, they involved balancing work with motherhood, which is a common issue these days.
The character who seemed obsessed with popularity, well, I believe they faced consequences for their actions, like using underhanded tactics. Most of the others seemed narrow-minded, leading to their predicaments. But Ye Fan maintained her composure, thanks to her past experiences.
Now, where things really picked up for me was when He Han approached Ye Fan; that marked a significant turning point, especially during her project "SuperStarProject." That's when the excitement really began to build.

(Stoped reading after chapter 60) The book is boring, the author tries to make the Mc super edgy, the type that is like 'I am too lazy to deal with this because I lost someone I love' The Auther tries to add drama and dramatic reveals but he fails horribly it just becomes boring best example (spoiler) The mc learns that his sister the one he was being a edge lord about was there with him but without her memories, then his system tries to kill him because she was jealous and then it is revealed that mc has people living in his head, (This happens in the span of a chapter) Then there is the grammar, well let's just say thet it can be seen that the author is not a native english speaker and those mistakes kill my motivation to continue with the story.The author is Indian so the story has a lot of references to indian culture and religion. This does not bother me, but I would like to note it.Summery: The Mc is a depressed 'boo hoo'. I lost someone, and I know it was not my fault, but I still blame myself, and now i am haunted by her ghost and hear her voice in my head.
