It's no longer about physical violence; it's about power. The aunt is on her knees, unable to move, and Su Tanghuan is standing above her playing the gracious junior. What does the aunt stand to lose here? Her dignity, her position, her sense of control. And what does Su Tanghuan gain? Not just revenge, but a demonstration of exactly who holds power now. The stakes were never about a slap—they were about who gets to define the rules of this relationship going forward.
I need to talk about Jiang Zhiyu and Gu Huaiqiu because something about their dynamic is eating at me. On the surface, he is cold as ice and she is persistent as a weed growing through cracks. And Jiang Zhiyu sees through all of it but she plays along because she needs to. The emotional intelligence in this scene is staggering. Everyone is wearing a mask. Everyone is calculating. And yet Jiang Zhiyu is the only one who seems to understand that the only way to win is to stay calm and wait.
On the surface this is a comedy about a system host trying to set up the protagonist shou with his four husbands. But read a little deeper and there's something much more interesting happening. The whole novel is obsessed with the question of who has power in any given situation, and that power keeps shifting in ways that undermine the reader's assumptions. Li Wu is the perfect example. He appears to be the helpless younger brother who needs protection, but he's actually the one orchestrating everything. His "vicious" gaze when he thinks Shu Xian is lying, his immediate shift from sweet to threatening — he's testing boundaries constantly. The original novel had him as the protagonist shou, but this Li Wu feels like he's playing a completely different genre than everyone else realizes. The merchandise subplot is symbolic too. Jian Fang sends gifts addressed to Shu Xian, not Li Wu. The system counts this as task completion, but the real meaning is about who gets claimed by the male leads. Shu Xian thinks he's just completing tasks, but he's accidentally becoming the center of attention himself. "The host is lucky indeed; the male lead directly gave him merchandise." Is this fate or is Li Wu allowing it? Even the haunted house works on a symbolic level — blindfolding someone, guiding them through darkness, the fear and trust dynamic. Shu Xian covers Jian Fang's eyes and suddenly HE's the one being protected. The roles reverse. The novel keeps asking: who is really in control, who is the protagonist, and what happens when the supporting characters start writing their own stories?

I am rating this novel a perfect five because the story is so great. I can feel the passion of the author from every paragraph.To be honest I hate the MC's personality. It's okay if he doesn't want to be in the spotlight but this is too much. I hope that a plot twist will make him change this attitude.Fortunately, almost all of the side characters are lovable. They're so unique that I can already point out who's who when they talk.This book is well written and the flow is engaging.Once again, I hope the MC will have a turning point in wanting peace to accept his strength and kill all his enemies.
With some world building and charcter design it can be improved. with this speed of story progression it feels more like Ai generated.
