I have completed the novel, finding it enjoyable for leisurely pursuits. However, at times, I found myself perturbed by its repetitive narrative style, particularly concerning the perpetual theme of cultivation and the constant pursuit of surpassing one's adversaries. This theme persists until the conclusion, wherein the narrative once again delves into the realm of cultivation and ascending to higher echelons of power.
The initial idea was promising, but the story relies heavily on clichés, and the female lead (FL) comes across as a Mary Sue character. As a result, I've decided to stop reading. I gave it a 3 for its readability and the cute character dynamics, but the portrayal of the FL as a genius is stretched too far, making it unrealistic.
I found it tiresome how the male lead (ML) is consistently portrayed as serious, brooding, and intense, while the FL remains innocent, kind, and possesses extraordinary talent. Additionally, the ML's stalking tendencies grated on my nerves.
One major issue is that the plot summary misled me. It initially piqued my interest, but the events described don't match what actually happens. Furthermore, I disliked the constant pairing of the FL with the ML, especially since she's meant to be a新手. It feels unrealistic for her to be linked with a prominent film emperor.
Overall, while Chinese novel translations can be enjoyable, this particular one didn't meet my expectations due to these aspects.
