Let me just say this upfront: I am already sweating for this character and we haven't even hit chapter 5. The external stakes are established immediately and they're brutal. Sikong Sui has 180 days to raise four top-tier Alphas' favorability to 100% each, or she's stuck in this world forever. The original story's villainess got imprisoned by her own brother and tortured to death by Fu Yuan. That's not a vague threat—that's a specific, documented ending that the transmigrated Sikong Sui now has to actively avoid. But what really gets me is the internal conflict, because this character is dealing with so much simultaneously. She just transmigrated into the body of a villainess who was actively tormenting her own brother. She has to undo years of damage while pretending to be the same person. She has to navigate a world where pheromones, hierarchy, and Alpha/Omega dynamics create constant pressure. And she has to do all of this while a countdown ticks in the back of her mind. The scene with Pei Sichen is a perfect example of how the author layers conflict. On the surface, it's a simple encounter—Sikong Sui walks into the wrong villa, gets caught by an Alpha in a towel, and is told to leave. But underneath that, there's so much tension. Pei Sichen is a top-tier Alpha with vodka pheromones that are so strong they make her breathing strained. He's one of the four targets she needs to win over, and his current favorability is -1. She just walked in on him vulnerably and he responded with cold dismissal. That's not a good start. The system even tells her she was "too cowardly" for backing away, which adds another layer of internal pressure—she's being judged by a mechanical voice in her head for her instincts. And then there's Sikong Nian. The conflict between him and Sikong Sui is the emotional heart of the story, and it's devastating because it's built on misunderstanding and sacrifice. He pretended to be an Omega for her. She envied him for it. He protected her even when she was being cruel. She only just found out the truth. Every interaction between them now is going to be loaded with dramatic irony—she knows everything, he knows nothing about her transformation. That's conflict gold. Fu Yuan is looming on the horizon like a storm cloud. The text describes him as "a tall figure in a crisp military uniform" with a presence "like an unsheathed blade" and I can already tell this man is going to be the most dangerous person in the story. He's Sikong Nian's destined partner in the original plot, and he's also the one who tortures Sikong Sui to death. The fact that he's about to conduct Sikong Nian's first pheromone test after differentiation means he's going to discover the truth—that Sikong Nian is an Alpha pretending to be an Omega. And that revelation is going to explode everything. The stakes keep rising with every chapter. Every relationship is a minefield. Every interaction could go wrong. And Sikong Sui is walking into all of it with nothing but her wits and a system that talks in three-word sentences. I'm fully invested.
