I was about to dodge his strike but for some reason, I can't move. My energy is draining rapidly. My body isn't used with this unknown power. My chests are exploding every breathe I take, like Nagasaki and Hiroshima in 1945. I got to escape and bring that wahman with me.
His country became impenetrable to anyone below Second Order Warlock and even they had to be carefull, after all one Railgun can easily kill a First Order Warlock, so thousands of them could kill a Second Order Warlock. Enough ants can kill an elephant.
"We are almost there now!" Hearing a voice ahead of her, Sofie woke up from her daydreams and looked at the man riding on a fire lizard in front of her.

I need to talk about Pei Du because this man is a whole mood and I am not okay. So Xie Zhi wakes up from her fever dream, and the first thing she does is glare at him and yell "I hate you!" And you know what? I get it. She's been through hell. But the way Pei Du reacts—his grip loosens, he catches her when she collapses, he carries her back in his arms—this man is so conflicted it actually hurts to watch. He claims to dislike her, yet he's been intercepting her messages, following her around, saving her from lakes twice in one night. What is he doing? And Xie Zhi! I love her so much in this section. When she breaks down and says "If I'd known it would end like this, I would have run a little farther back then instead of hiding in your carriage"—that line absolutely destroyed me. She's not just scheming; she's genuinely terrified and exhausted. She's a convicted official's daughter trapped in a manor where everyone wants her gone, and Pei Du is both her biggest obstacle and her only safety net. That's such a complicated dynamic. The Old Madam's scene with Pei Du was also fascinating. She tries to set Xie Zhi up with him, and he actually agrees? To send her to his courtyard as a sweeper? After everything? The Old Madam and Nanny Zhou's reaction—"He had actually agreed this time?"—says everything. This man doesn't agree to anything, and yet here he is, quietly placing her exactly where he can keep watch. I'm convinced Pei Du has feelings he won't admit to anyone, not even himself. But I also wonder if Xie Zhi will ever see past his cold exterior, or if she'll always just see him as the guy who ruins her plans.
When asked what had happened and how they ended up in there, the two guards were found to be holding the key to their own cell - they could have escaped at any time...!
"I mean, couldn't you tell?"
