"Alright, I'll listen to my wife." I need to just sit with that line for a moment. That's it. That's the note. But seriously, can we talk about Lu Jingchen? The man is a whole vibe. He walks into a room and everyone — and I mean EVERYONE — pivots to watch him. The Song family heirs, the Ye brothers, the parents, all of them reduced to gossiping about whether Third Master Lu is here to bless the wedding or burn it down. And yet Ye Qianqian, who has spent the entire book being treated like furniture by the people who supposedly love her, gets to be the one on his arm. The dynamic between them is everything. He wraps his arm around her waist 'as if to protect her from being jostled' but really it's possessive, territorial, and absolutely devastating because she has no idea he's been secretly in love with her this whole time. Meanwhile the bullet chat is losing its absolute mind: 【The female supporting character didn't see the big shot watching her fleeing back, his face growing even darker with anger!】 And Song Yuntao — oh, Song Yuntao. The man who got her drunk and gave her away is now standing on stage having a full existential crisis because she 'accepted another man so calmly.' BRO. You drugged her. You handed her to someone else. You don't get to be confused about her emotions. His internal monologue during the kiss scene was peak delusion and I loved hating him for it. Ye Qingyan though — she's fascinating in a 'I need to sit down' way. Her jealousy is so raw and ugly and she masks it with this perfect little sister act. When she says 'Brother Yuntao, look — Third Master Lu is holding my sister?' with that sweet coquettish tone while internally wanting to TEAR Ye Qianqian apart? Chilling. Absolutely chilling.
What happened to Theo and Andrew????? Seemed the first book just finished abruptly without all pieces in place...
I’m sorry. I gave up on this book. It was all over the place. Names mixed up. Events changed from what we previously read in a prior chapter. There is an entire chapter completely unrelated to anything about this book. It doesn’t flow. It doesn’t seem to go anywhere. Refund would be nice…
The amazing love between mama beam and Theo is just the best part of this book. I also love just how quickly Archer accepted beam as his wife
From reading this on another app there should be 4 more chapters? Unless they were trying to charge me $9.99 for nothing.
