Amazing story! Some of the chapters were hard to read due to the content, but otherwise I absolutely loved this story! Loved how it ended! Amazing job author! Would love maybe a few bonus chapters of them getting married and/or getting pregnant! ?
The most amusing aspect for me is MC's character. It's quite ironic how cautious and distrusting she can be, yet simultaneously possesses an innocence that elicits laughter. There were moments where she displayed a delightful sense of humor.
Moreover, her resilience is truly commendable. To have endured such a brutal existence for eight years, with a fragile body vulnerable to even a rabbit attack, while being unable to seek help due to the societal perception of her as a useless, illiterate boy, is nothing short of remarkable. And yes, let's not forget her natural skepticism.
I wholeheartedly believe that she has faced hardships and deserves genuine affection. However, her guarded nature stems from past neglect and misinterpretations. As we've reached chapter 12, she hasn't opened up to anyone yet – perhaps except for that innocent playground acquaintance, whom she needn't fear. Children seem to bring out a different side of her, one that's endearing.
The strength of this story lies primarily in its protagonist. She's charming, hilarious, and cute, yet displays unwavering determination and a strong willpower. That's what makes her truly captivating.
This novel stands out from the other Quantum Theory (QT) books I've encountered. The main character (MC) is an ordinary girl who unfortunately succumbed to an illness and gained a system binding. There's no overpowered traits or superhuman intelligence, which is a refreshing change from typical narratives.
I appreciate how the story unfolds gradually as she navigates through different worlds, displaying relatable reactions to the situations she encounters, like during the paranormal arc where she initially reacts with surprise and concern upon witnessing a ghostly encounter. It's a welcome departure from主角全知全能的作品.
Additionally, the novel offers some intriguing background on the system and its origins, something that adds depth to the storytelling. As someone reading the translated chapters and relying on spoiler discussions, I found this aspect quite appealing.
However, despite the engaging MC and storyline, my personal preference leans towards more overpowered protagonists. The MC's vulnerability in the early arcs influenced my decision not to rate it a perfect 5 stars.
The system is a basic superpower system. What you have at the start is what you're stuck with. Now that might sound bad if it wasn't for the fact that wildbow is probably one of the most creative writers i've ever seen. There's elements of mystery though that's not really what pulled me in. What really made me love this story is the fights and the consequences. Taylor (mc) has a tendency to punch up hard throughout the story and seeing how she finds a way to not end up dead is great. Especially considering the fact that she can't always win and even when she does the results of that fight are always going to be something people deal with whether it's her, her friends, the cape community (cape = people with powers) or society at large. To be honest this is probably my favorite thing about it. Not every fight is hard or impossible but they're all important.
Harsh? I beg to differ. The tone... perhaps, but the points are true. I strictly emphasized the lack of layers in the characterization, which is true, since, I don't know if you'll get this but I try to visualize the "blueprint" or "framework" of the character if that makes sense.
And some characters are illustrated in a way that follows a very common structure among various works. From their mentality, to dialogue and speech patterns, hence I deemed "generic".
And yes I am well aware the use of archetypes in literature is necessary to create recognizable and relatable characters. Fundamental, might I add. But adding extra layers could go a long way.
Laughs and grins? Well, I'm glad it worked for you, but that's not enough for me. I am fine with the light-hearted moments but subjectively, it registers to me as filler.
My point is, this novel is lacking, but not unreadable. If that were the case, I would've labeled it as "brainrot". Its content passable but not enough imo.
